My great grandfather lived to be 101 years old. He chewed Tinsley's plug tobacco. I looked everywhere and can't find any, but old souvenir Tinsley's tags are on ebay. Only place I know of that one packet exists, is in his front pocket in his grave. He may have been their best customer. Great video!

Josie Wales is what got me started with my tobacco fascination. I think plug and twist is the best you could ever try, if you can find it. This video was full of quality information, alot of which was new to me 😁 You are the man, I like the way think.

I'm from northeast indiana, and I found out that almost every other store had their own brand of cigar. General stores, hardware stores, clothing stores, barber shops, everywhere.

"Days O Work", My favorite. Like the heavy real Licorice Extract they use in it. Hope they don't ever quit making it. Bloodhound and Cannonball good too. Red Man and Levi had a plug too, they were alright but think Red Man quit making plug. I first had Days O Work when I was 10. Me and my buddy bought it at the grocery store at 10 years old. That was back before they had an age limit. I bought cigars even younger than that. The checkers at the store would let you buy it. That was back in the 70s. Different world today.

Hey Paw paw piper. I went to admiral today in town and picked up my tub of stokers dip natural and not straight.it comes with a can u can refill the dip. And the tub yields about 10 cans for about 15 bucks. Pretty good deal It is my go to dip since it is 100% American tobacco.wondering if you tried it.i also noticed one bag of redman or beech nut was 7.95. Wow has there been more taxation on loose leaf or is it just the retail store charging more. Used to pick it up for 3-4 bucks. Great video man

Admiral is where I go for dip too. I'll occassionally buy a cigar there too. Haven't tried the Stoker's dip but you can't beat the value. Yep, loose leaf chew is pretty damn expensive, especially the premium stuff like Red Man and Levi. Smokeless tobacco has the same tax rate so it must be the manufacturer raising the price. Maybe it's because they don't sell much of it. Dip sells so much more. Take care man

Just curious how would you store the plug? Like do you have a pouch like loose leaf does? Or is there like a leather pouch that you buy?

Thanks for the video. I'm curious about the tobacco cutter... have you ever used it to cut pressed (cake) pipe tobacco? I'm guess it would work for this type of tobacco. Your thoughts? Thanks again!

It would certainly be good for that. Back in the day, plug tobacco was marketed both for chewing and smoking. When you bought a plug, the merchant would cut it to size using one of these cutters. If you can find one with a good blade on It, you should be golden.
