Isn't it a GREAT feeling when all of your efforts actually WORK ?? This brought back memories of my own plumbing efforts in years gone by. Wish I'd have had the plastic fittings that are so readily available these days...but you still have to work everything out and then fit it all together. This video will be invaluable to the first timers...and even those who have already attempted other plumbing projects before.

Really great helpful videos. One tip you need to leave a gap of 60mm from your valves etc to your pipe clips to allow for expansion. That’s right out of the handbook from JG speedfit. If it’s to close the expansion could push against the pipe clip and the seal will fail. Hope that helps for the future 👍🏻

Small pieces of 15mm copper pipe used as spacers is a neat and clean way to bring the pipes away from the wall. That's the best method I've found. Although maybe the hep will work the same way, as it will be hollow and rigid enough to take a screw. Great work as always 🙃

Really enjoyed watching this series of videos. What I have really taken on board from you is that it is worth taking your time and breaking the project down into smaller manageable tasks which makes it far less daunting. good job with the routing and slowly fitting the connections. wood scraps can make it easier to bring the supports to the pipes for support. and if you paint happy faces on the scrap blocks they do a better job supporting things. flexible pipes and connections with rubber or silicone seals are so much easier than the old way with rigid pipes and glue. great job. already voted for you. now for the ultimate question. is this all Hans approved? Nice job - I fitted my sink last year too. My only ‘tip’ would be to silicone under the sink basin, I.e where the sink meets worktop. That way, no water or cleaning product will seep under the basin and damage the worktop or cupboard. Keep up the good vids!

for the waste pipe clips i usually cut two small little bits of 15mm copper (or smaller) at about 1cm long or size required and use some longer screws. this steps the clip off the wall that little bit that is required.

The major problem with them is that they collect the dirt and grime that’s supposed to flow down the drain. The zigzag sides are great for slowing down the flow of water and letting the gunk sit and collect. Making matters worse, since they slow down the flow of water, gunk can easily collect further down the pipe, especially if they pipe already isn’t 100% clear.

Longer screws then cut some small pieces of 15mm pipe the same length as the gap from the clip to the wall these will act as spacers and you will be able to tighten the clip up nice and snug. I do this all the time it’s a lot neater and tidier than using a piece of wood.

Using blocks to shim out pipe supports is perfectly normal around here. Try to hit wall studs when you're securing the blocks. If you can't do that then make sure to use proper drywall/sheetrock/plaster anchors. (I have no idea what they're called in England.)

We had our kitchen sink fitted by a fitter installed the kitchen and he did a similar thing, no silicone no nothing just the gasket the sink started to leak into the cabinet below and the same went for the overflow as the rubber seals just do not seem enough on their own and this was a Franke sink. I would highly recommend silicone for the seal. I did that with ours and 6 years on not a drip!

It will work, but no craftmanship is shown. Work straight and plumb en fasten the pipe, not the couplings. Look into regulations and then start a YT-movie. Also 1 cm/40 cm is much too much. Your drain will fall dry and clogging will appear. 1cm/100cm is much better. Also the whole rerouting with the water is strange and takes too much material.
