I am quite interested, since Free42 is so well done! I believe that Thomas has built in the unlimited stack function to both free42 and plus42, And with that, there is a change in how enter works (more like RPL) which I like to see, because it seems more intuitive. I don't really like to see the number copied up to the y register when you press enter. They're only a few cases where it might save one keystroke but it just doesn't look right to enter a number and then see it there twice. However one thing that would help is if the numbers could be shown on the right hand side (when in Nstack mode) like they are on the 48S. The main reason I would like to see this is that the NSTACK his numbered 1:, 2:, 3:, etc., and I don't like having those numbers so close to the data I'm reading from the screen. So I'm hoping Thomas can modify it to make the data right aligned while keeping the stack labels at the left for this mode. (It would be fine for the rotating stack mode as well but there's less confusion because the stack is labeled XYZT.)

Been using Free42 since it came out. I even bought a real HP-42S for my collection. Thomas Okken has a place in history for this project!

This looks like it could be the super-calculator I've been looking for for 40 years! All the best parts of HP's various approaches rolled into one calculator. Adding Units, Conversions, dynamic stack, algebraic equations, directories, plotting, the equation solver app all in one place - amazing. THANK YOU THOMAS!

Despite my poor hearing and extreme difficulty with various accents, I will watch this over and over to try to get important words missed first time around because I like your calm delivery and logical approach. Thanks. Subscribed.

Anthony really did an outstanding job on this video. I have enjoyed watching all of his videos but I learned a number of things in this one that I had somehow missed even after playing with Plus42 for months. Thanks Anthony!

Why is the 42s remembered so fondly? People seem to wax poetic about it?

If swiss micros ever makes a Plus42 or an RPL calculator (DM48,49,50, etc) I will immediately buy it at any reasonable price. He could even use the same hardware as the DM42 and nix the extra row of buttons. I have a DM42 and I love it, but there just isn't any place to go from there. DM32, DM 41, etc are all downgrades, imo.

Whats the difference between the 48G and the 48SX? A couple years ago I was looking to get an RPN and the SX was what was available, but I can't find much about 48s on KZfaq

Could you, at your leisure cover the print functions of the 42S emulators. I find the PRUSR and PRALL interesting. Maybe you could show some of the things that the virtual tape can do such as copying the output to anywhere you want as text.

Yeah i should cover printing more. It's not something I do a lot personally, but i'll try to remember for future videos.

@Calculator Culture Yes, the tape is pretty slick. Try pressing the copy button and paste the results into a text file. The print modes are also quite interesting. I also copied a cell selection from a spreadsheet, and pasted it into the X register, and a matrix showed up.

It does look like it, but the DM42 doesnt have a backlight - it's just reflecting the light from the window.
