I build mine right-side up like the Vikings built there’s … on saw horses the same height as the bed of the pickup truck … have used a minimal amount of tools doing it too … Skilsaw , drill , axe and Surform … all edges hand sanded … 3/4” plywood bottom and 3/8” plywood sides … glued , screwed and caulked … painted 4 coats with Valspar duramax 365 house paint … VA DWR recently issued title & registration to my Bob-Craft tm , 12’ wooden boat … plans available soon !

Nice! You really don't need a lot of tools to build boats like these. Almost all my cuts where done with either a circular saw or a jigsaw. I only used my table saw once to rip the chines and shear clamps out of a 2x6x12. Used an electric plane for fairing just to save time. I faired my last boat with a cheap block plane.
