Күн бұрынSpeaking in parliament on Wednesday (Aug 2), Non-Constituency MP Leong Mun Wai asked about what he described as a delay in "taking decisive action" when Transport Minister S Iswaran became involved in a corruption probe. He questioned if it was in line with the government's zero-tolerance stance to corruption.
This is Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's full response to his question.

no it's a stupid motherhood question that might as well not be asked. What is 'be more decisive' mean? instantly suspend iswaran the moment there's a hint of corruption? if your neighbour complain about you, say u want to kill them, then the police should straight away send u to jail? that is considered decisive? might as well don't ask

@StMarc-ow4wz However, the court ruled that the three WP leaders - WP chair Sylvia Lim, Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh, and former WP secretary-general Low Thia Khiang - could still be liable to pay damages over possible negligence concerning certain other aspects of their contract dealings. When the start of this case happen, should we remove all of them? No what... investigate then see what's wrong right? Ya la... I know u wanna say I side PAP. Duh...

To share Iswaran $8500 salary cut only show a lack of transparency n sincerity. Why dont you share how much Iswaran is drawing every month after the $8500 cut? If he is earning $85k monthly. $8.5k is merely 10%, Tax payers are still paying more than 70k a month for a minister under suspension n investigated by CPIB. Is that right? Is that upholding integrity n standard? The more he explain the more cans of worms he open for himself. 😂 He is digging a hole deeper n deeper for himself !!!

I think that CPIB should report directly to the President to avoid conflict of interest instead of to the PM. It will be more independent.

Unlikely, remember the case "Ex-CPIB assistant director Edwin Yeo jailed 10 years for criminal breach of trust. A former assistant director of the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau who misappropriated $1.76 million was jailed for 10 years on Thursday for criminal breach of trust as a public servant and for forgery.20 Feb 2014" Yet no parliamentary independent committee setup to address a powerful bureau directly under PMO. Hence, that's stupid and failed promise called Ownself Check Own Self.

1) Reporting to just one person regardless whether it is the PM or President lacks checks and balance. 2) But for daily routine operations, it would be more practical to just report to one person(PM). 3) I suggest, it would be worth considering to have an automatic trigger when there is a major case, the CPIB reports to a council of 03 consisting of the President, PM, & Chief Justice.

Had we all been misled? Where is Accountability? Question is; Had the cpib investigated and flagged this in their report? It was reported in the ST News that In response to media queries on the issue, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), which manages state properties, said on May 12 that both ministers had rented the properties through a bidding process, with Mr Shanmugam the sole bidder for 26 Ridout Road and Dr Balakrishnan the highest bidder for 31 Ridout Road. So now we know that both the ministers rented the properties under direct leasing. If this is not a Conflicting Information, What is? The question is; What drove the SLA to make the conflicting and misleading information in the first place?

Supposedly LMW suggestion immediately suspended he would have been alerted that an investigation was ongoing and fled way before he is arrested for investigation. Minister Lee, anymore 0.11 cents/sqft/month for 23,000 sqm Good Class Bungalow for Singaporeans to rent or not? I am sure many Singaporeans want to rent for 3 X 3 X 3 X 3 years "special" contract, no need re-tender type. In HDB, even the aircon ledge exceeding 1m width is counted as chargeable GFA space. Maybe Singaporeans should tell the HDB the aircon ledge is non "livable space"?

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MINISTERS (3) Financial interests 3.1 A Minister must scrupulously avoid any actual or "apparent conflict of interest" between his office and his private financial interests. Such a conflict, or a perception of conflict, can arise (a) from the exercise of powers or influence in a way that benefits or may be seen to benefit private interests held; or (b) from using special knowledge acquired in the course of his activities as Minister to bring benefit or avoid loss (or could arouse reasonable suspicion of this) in relation to his private financial interests. 3.2 A Minister therefore must never enter into any transactions whereby his private financial interest might, even conceivably, come into conflict with his public duty.

We either uphold the Principle of Justice i.e. a person is innocent until proven guilty or we devolve into anarchy...just a whiff of suspicion and we terminate him. We need to be fair to Minister Iswaran....the punishment may be harsh if he is found to have committed wrong-doing. But if he is cleared, his full entitlement including his full pay must be compensated to him. It is now an ALL or Nothing case.

The PM did quite emphatically state that the Speaker of the House having an affair with an MP was a more serious matter because he was the Speaker of parliament and Ms Cheng was a member. (Remember that the Speaker must be non-partisan and fair to all MPs and has power over the conduct of Parliament and to discipline MPs.)

Well said by the Prime Minister. It is unpleasant, a big embarrassment and a potential impact on the General Elections。 But the investigation has to be fair and thorough. How it will take depends on the complexity and the number of people to be interviewed. The Courts take a very strict view about evidence. Recent judgements have seen the Courts take the AG to task for less than thorough preparations. Minister Iswaran has taken a paid leave of absence and that matter should rest with CPIB and the AG.

Short and sharp prior to it only when it is proven beyond benefit of doubt warrant investigation or a person is not criminal before proven. The PM is trying to signal to the electorates by and large that the current government and system of governance are self checking themselves and its system impartially beyond doubt and that opposition parties are in fact no longer feasible wasting of tax payers monies and that opposition parties have been hindering a lot of time taken that can be used of other essential and important matters instead 😅

For those who vote against the PAP. Malaysia's door is open for you. Leave Singapore and don't ever come back because many others want your place as a Singaporean. Too many Singaporeans are spoiling the names of Singaporeans. Please reflect on what you have contributed before complaining about something you can't even help with. Compare those regions led by the opposition, and you will realise how fortunate those staying in regions led by the PAP are. If you compare other world leaders, and even better if you get to stay abroad, you will finally realise how fortunate you are to be a Singaporean led by the PAP. Looking at NCMP, would you rather PM Lee lead the country or NCMP? Please appreciate what all of them have done and contributed to Singapore, not some mistakes that even you would commit.

Imagine my prediction and accusations to Singapore was accurate, haha 😆 Believe me or not what I'm saying is true, why Singapore become rich country cos first time I went there I had a dreams, I saw god father calling me on a wide rice field and he's says something on me, then I agreed, then 2nd time I went there I had a dreams again in hotel in China town name porcelain hotel, the shadows is shadowing me, meaning there is corruptions and economic downturn in Singapore and Singapore is watching me, I knew It will happened to me, but it okay, I did my purpose already........

Then 2nd time I comeback to singapore I was followed by a dark shadow means a downturn of the country and I will be banned in singapore so that I can't reverse the future of singapore... I am goddess. Every country I step in I got a messages from God. If ever I can't visit the countries, my spirit is visiting your country to see the event ahead of time...if there are a risk. My last dreams in singapore i was swimming on a rice field, which means a rice field become swamp. Now I assume myself as a goddess cos I can see things tht no one can see and I can command things to happen using my magic prayers

@@winwinwin282828 No blank cheques should be given to PAP, but LMW is a relative unknown until he joined a political party led by a JUDAS. To make himself "known", he must at every opportunity make some "noise" irrespective of subject. At times, he makes a fool of himself and has apologised a few times in parliament. There wil be more apologies in the future. Vote for him if you feel that he deserves your vote. Remember genius think alike but fools seldom differ.
