PM Modi visited Agatti, Bangaram and Kavaratti in Lakshadweep for the launch of various projects. Sharing glimpses from his two-day visit, PM Modi said, “Our focus in Lakshadweep is to uplift lives through enhanced development. In addition to creating futuristic infrastructure, it is also about creating opportunities for better healthcare, faster internet and drinking water, while protecting as well celebrating the vibrant local culture. The projects that were inaugurated reflect this spirit." Also, PM Modi interacted with various beneficiaries of Government of India schemes.

This Bangaram island of Lakshadweep is extremely beautiful in almost 1/5th price of Maldives. It has one resort and limited guests and feels like the whole island is yours. The front islands are Thinnakara and Pareli Islands. We spent 3 night there in 2022. Since 3 years, we are not going any foreign country for vacation, only exploring India. And we realised, India has everything from Vacation point of view. It has deserts, mountains, beaches, Jungle Safaris, Greenery like Kerala, Islands, Royal Palaces, Historical Monuments, Ancient Temples. No country wrap all these places together.

Respected PM Sir, Namaskaram! It is wonderful to see you at Lakshadweep! Truly there are places in BHARATH that we need to explore FIRST, before we go abroad. Today, Lakshadweep is in the radar of the WORLD thanks to your visit and some negative comments by some silly people from Maldives. Respected PM Sir, if ONLY in 2024, Lakshadweep is making its presence felt to the world at large then you have to agree that the islands have been under the radar EVEN SEVENTY FIVE YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE! And, if that is so, then it also means that NOTHING much of ANY IMPORTANCE relating to tourism infrastructure and development has been done in 75 years. When we take into account the geographical distance into context, LAKSHADWEEP at 400km, is closer to Mainland INDIA than ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS at 1300 km! Yet, it is ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS that have seen immense tourism developments over the years. I know for a fact that even 30 years ago there were resorts in Andaman’s since a few of my batchmates from hotel management college went for training to Andaman’s! the question that i also have for the previous heads of our governments is why were these pearls from the Arabian Sea neglected for decades before your arrival? It is sad to know that even after 75 years of Independence our people are still waiting for infrastructure and development; if so, i wonder that what was the use of that “freedom” that we got? Respected PM Sir, Taj is a 120 year old homegrown hospitality chain; 30 years ago, i have had the great privilege to do my FIRST training in the Taj as part of my hotel management studies and also get my FIRST job in the Taj. But the fact is that even after 75 years of Independence, Taj NEVER had the opportunity to set food on the islands! As per latest news, it will be 80 years AFTER INDEPENDENCE that our 120 year old TAJ GROUP will have a presence in Lakshadweep! Similarly, The Oberoi's is a 90 year old homegrown hospitality chain. They also do not have a presence in the Islands. Respected PM Sir, i also wonder when was the last time any of the celebrities who are promoting Lakshadweep NOW, actually stayed IN Lakshadweep for a week or so? One Senior, World Famous, Superstar of India is also promoting. I am wondering when did he stay last? Respected PM Sir, it was after your visit that i heard a piece of information relating to Israel's help in the islands - "We were in Lakshadweep last year upon the federal government's request to initiate the desalination program." Which could also mean that the infrastructure development projects have only started to move now, thanks to you! I read in another article from an on line newspaper that "If you are planning to sail to Lakshadweep from Kochi, there are seven passenger ships - MV Kavaratti, MV Minicoy, MV Amindivi, MV Corals, MV Lagoon, MV Lakshadweep Sea, and MV Arabian Sea. The journey takes about 14-18 hours." Respected PM Sir, that is not fully correct because most ships have to routinely go in for repairs and maintenance. In fact the islanders THEMSELVES hardly manage to get seats on the ship to visit mainland for Higher Education, Healthcare, meeting relatives, friends and shopping. Added to that, the ships do NOT operate during the monsoon season. Also, if im not mistaken, from the ships, to get to mainland & vice versa, it is via smaller boats. So the journey is made more difficult especially for the elderly and invalid. Respected PM Sir, but the question that comes to my mind is when we have our own COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED, why is it that the Lakshadweep islands are suffering for want of vessels? Respected PM Sir, but there is a silver lining in the horizon now that you have rightly put the spotlight on Lakshadweep, i hope the administration and the concerned government departments will work in full swing to make it a truly world class destination aligning with your vision of sustainable development, environmental protection and Sab ka saat, sab ka Vikas. @@marieemmapaoli It's the single resort on Bangaram Island I believe, the whole island only has 1 government owned resort. Either way, the resort islands each are unique, any one of them will be a great experience. But I'm quite sure this one is Bangaram Island Resort. At a certain time of the year, the sea even glows. Search for bioluminescence in Bangaram Island for glowing beaches caused by plankton.

Nine months of conflict, thousands displaced, hundreds killed, hatred and tension as never seen before and rise of extremism on all sides. We're supposed to be grateful for all of that? He should step down then. I can assure even a 15 year old teen can do that. I can do that too. All I need to do is NOTHING. This is why people call people like you andh bhakts. You have to make up any excuse to support him. So much bloodshed and he spared 40 secs. That's his best effort? So many people crying and begging him to say something and community representatives even flying in all the way to Delhi because he won't set foot in Manipur. He refuses to meet them or talk about it anywhere on any forum. But he's got time to spend a day in New York all the way in another country doing something oh so life changing -Yoga. He's even got time for snorkeling in Lakshadweep. And you're telling his path was the wisest choice for this whole fiasco? I pray people like you experience this kind of harsh neglect and dismissal and I hope you cry and cry and no one cares. Let all the frustration and tears bring you to this end stage.

@@xijinpig8982 someone has reported my response and got it deleted perhaps because it's not palatable to andh bhakts and they don't want the detailed explanation I gave to be read by others. How sad! I'll advise you to do PLENTY of research and talk to hundred of people FROM MANIPUR before commenting something as ignorant as saying the PM's action was the wisest option. If you lived this experience, you'd not be singing this tired old tune of my leader is aways right no matter what. Wake up, open your eyes. Don't be fooled.
