My purpose for the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Remastering Project is to remaster every song from the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, Red/Blue Rescue Team. In my opinion, the soundtrack, composed by Arata Iiyoshi and Atsuhiro Ishizuna, is one of the most beautiful collections of music to be found, and my goal is to bring each track to life through remastering, and in some cases re-orchestration. I hope that by taking on this task, this music can be enjoyed by more people and with more enthusiasm than ever. I believe that such powerful music should not be limited to the confines of a video game.

TGH.... my handles tremble as I write this... I wrote lyrics to this song... then found out my aunt was dying... of cancer. I sung her this song. The music was being played from a mobile phone, but she didn't care. I barely knew her. I've cried tears of regret because of the chances I've wasted getting to know her better. That shadow of regret still lingers over me. I think it will continue to do so for a very long time... she never got angry during her time at the hospital, never grew bitter. She was one of the sweetest ladies I knew, in retrospect. ... As I sang to her, she started to cry. This song, along with my lyrics, was the only thing during her entire stay, that made her cry. You don't know how much that means to me. I've shared my heart with people before, but never before have they ever shed tears. I held her hand as she cried, still singing along to my lyrics. I thought you deserve to hear the lyrics I wrote up to accompany this breathtakingly precious melody. So here they are... "Well hey It has been fun… If it's alright I'm real sorry But now I have got to run! And yet somehow I know... You’ll be okay, and you’ll do great! But just please promise me one thing... Listening? As I sing... Hope our ending will restart... Darkening! Embarking! You know, this tale, it breaks my heart! We all grow together... And then drift apart... But someday... Maybe we'll say... wow, reading this comment while listening to the song and the lyrics almost made ME cry. I never knew your Aunt, and I don't know you, but we are are linked together by emotion. I don't have to know someone to feel sadness for them, or to care for them. I just have to hear their story. And the story YOU told was incredible. I know this comment is from a year ago, but it DESERVES a comment. Cancer is awful, and I know you and your aunt will say Hello again, someday. My friend is heartbroken... A true friend... A friend for life... I finally realize it now... If I wish... And wish very strongly... Perhaps we will meet again.

Jeremy Jones Hey man, I’m deeply sorry about your aunt. Your comment almost made me cry, I can’t believe that you never got to know your aunt, that must feel so horrible. But you know what’s good about your comment? You made me appreciate everyone around me, everyone that I ever knew, everyone that loves me, or even hates me. Your words have touched me so much that I actually went downstairs a couple of hours ago just to tell my family “I love you guys”, and then we played Monopoly and had a great time. We haven’t done that in years. My dad is always out of the house on work trips, and my brother is in college, I almost never see them anymore. Words have such an impact on people. And you have certainly impacted me. And to that, I wish you won’t feel regret, it’s a useless feeling. Feel good that you sang to your aunt at the very end, because if you didn’t, you would have much more regret and your aunt would always regret not spending time with you. Always stay on the positive side, and never let anything get you down. I wish you an amazing life.

Thank you so much for making this happen! The PMDRMP is, in my opinion, the best collection of Mystery Dungeon remixes to have ever ever existed. Many of the remixes are superior to the originals! They embody everything that made the originals so great, and yet they still feel uniquely yours. To do that takes a lot of skill indeed, and it's earned a permanent spot in my music library. I've only been around since last March or so (not too long), but at least I'll be able to witness the PMD2RMP from start to finish. I look forward to seeing more from you! :)

Sorry for not commenting on anything for a while, I always watched videos on youtube and stuff at school, and since it's Xmas break I haven't been doing much of that. Even though PMD 1 never held the nostalgia of PMD 2 to me, I still loved it and I still love this beautiful music. Thank you.

After everything that happened, Charmander was killed in the Meteor Blast, and was the only casualty. He died doing the right thing. But his friends Totodile, Squirtle, Shiftry, Xatu, even Rayquaza, remain strong, and hope to move on. They weren't aware of a happier truth, coming within days...

Yeah. Their impact on my life is so profound that they may have actually saved my life. Never again do I take my friends for granted, and even now the concepts presented in them are reflected in my behavior. It's a gem I want to share, but nobody believes me when I say it's worth playing. Either way, I'm glad I played it.

DezZzO Maybe? Yeah pretty much, I feel it got too formulaic beyond that. I kind of thought of Explorers as the improved version, because they accomplished a lot of the same things in a better way. They have their own unique quirks though.

This is one of the most saddest Pokémon songs I've ever heard and I love it! I just really like to feel so emotional whenever I enjoy something so heartwarming. This is one reason why I love Pokémon, it just violently tugs at your heart strings that you'll never outgrow it no matter how old you are.

@@danidonie24 a lot of people like it, really. But I hated it. I thought it was so bad. It's literally just Super Mystery Dungeon, but using Rescue Team's story instead. They didn't even bring back IQ skills when Rescue Team were the games that introduced them. The game is quite poorly balanced, and I frequently see people complaining about the difficulty and not knowing what to do in order to continue. I wonder why it's poorly balanced! ...maybe it's because they messed up damage calculations and removed IQ skills. IQ was heavily utilized in the game's balancing. Now its just "Pokemon hit you unreasonably hard and you deal pitiful damage", as they wanted to force a much heavier usage on their annoying items that just cause inventory clutter. Oh, and they somehow came up with ideas for even more unbearable traps than Explorers has.

Gonna put all the jokes to the side for a minute here, because this is really something else. I said almost everything I wanted to say on the Aftermath video, but you've accomplished something great here. Not only did you live up to and past the expectation, but you've started something big and finished it big. That's something not a lot of people can do today; myself included. I've scrapped more ambitious projects and even just everyday sketches or simple chiptunes than I can count. Give yourself a break before the second run. This project has been a great ride, and it's been awesome to watch this all come together. Merry Christmas to you, I hope it's a great one.

There is no way I could have even come close to finishing this project if it weren't for the support I received from you, and all the other project's followers...the motivation and inspiration for me to continue on with the project truly was fueled by you guys. the first pmd was the best one out of all them blue rescue team was my first and i have my most heartfelt memories in that game also with pokemon heartgold it makes me tear up no matter what knowing i will never have these experiences in a game or anywhere ever again they are my most cherished memories and nothing will ever replace the happiness they gave me im always going to miss my adventure as a trainer in heartgold training up my chikorita which after 7 years still isnt level 100 on purpose because if i get my first ever pokemon to the maximum level i know that my fun and adventure with it will be over

And it's over. One heck of a ride, but it's finally over. I'm not really sure how to feel about this. It's all utterly astounding music, some of the best I've ever heard. It even inherits the emotions from PMD, making an already good set of tracks even better. But.. now we can't look forward to the next one, because it's finished. Well, that's not quite true. We can still wait and hope for the second one. But until that's released? Either way, thank you for the music. We'll see you next time.

I saw that some people made lyrics for this song, so I thought I'd have a crack at it. Originally, this was only ever meant for my boyfriend's eyes when it was first drafted about a year or so ago, but I feel it should be made public now, given how powerful this song is, and the events that lead up to it. +Alenoba I only started playing last year after a friend told me about the series in general being a well developed story and...yeah the feels will happen. If you can I would recomend playing Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Sky (honestly one of the best in the series...), and here is hoping Super Mystery Dungeon will be amazing, so far its looking to be great

Hey is it ok if I use art to test something? I feel like you have done an extremely good job with all these remasters. But I kinda feel like it lacks an ambience/white noise. I just want to mix this with some wind sounds for personal listening.

Really awesome. Loved the change for 2:23, felt much more emotional. Didn't like the swells starting at 1:20, they felt overwhelming for what is supposed to be the "calm" part of the song, IMO. I thought the crescendos and decrescendos could have been less pronounced. Also at that part, didn't you leave out 2-4 notes from the flute? melody? That play during that decrescendo to silence? Eh, maybe not. Really awesome job though. Favorite quote from that game: "Didn't we... Aren't we friends?" :(

Didn't think it was necessary to edit those crescendos and decrescendos, to be honest. Especially after the stronger buildup in the second part. It's already calm as is, and quieter than everything else. I didn't want to go too extreme with the dynamics. To answer your other question, nope, that's how the background melody at that part is in the original. Just those 4 notes.
