What truly hit hardest about this is that this is the first time you actually talk. Sure, you think. You think a lot, and occasionally give nods, or explain stuff without actual dialogue, but here, you go into a full-on monologue on how much you enjoyed your time with your partner, moments away from being erased from the universe itself while your best pal watches on in complete disbelief. And that, my friend, is damned poetry right there.

Hot Dog, you were such a good Arcanine, who put so much effort into every flamethrower you used, to make the three hours Alpha spent in the game corner worth it. Fyrus, you were brave enough to sacrifice yourself when it mattered most. Yoshi, you tried your best to defend all your friends when the odds were nothing but against you. Transformr, Coughing, Spy Kids 3, Mewtwo, Mannnkkkee, Phoenix, Donkey Kong, Clam Slam, and anyone else I may have forgotten you all did so well and were so brave. But in the end you either succumbed to Alakazam, some other formidable foe, or sacrificed yourselves to protect all your friends. We won't forget what you did for the greater good.

For us humans, being forgotten is a fate worse than death.

It's been 10 years. So much has happened in that long time. I lost family members, a best friend, and a significant other. When I first heard the song, I was 14 years old. I'm now 24, and this song still holds all of the emotions as it did in the past, if not more. I still go back and play this game, just for the nostalgia, and I still cry when my partner breaks down on the beach. Even after 10 years or life, emotions never change. Especially with music.

I remember vividly the first time I finished Explorers of Sky. When I faded away and watched my best friend suffer, I cried for what seemed like forever. This song was etched into my heart and soul, so I can’t help but cry every time I hear it in all its beauty. Explorers of Sky was the first time I cried for a video game. It opened my eyes to the magic of storytelling in video games, and that in turn inspired my passion for writing and English today. Video games and Nintendo will always be very important to me, but this game in particular is one I will never forget.

This may be a song about losing your best friend and your entire world, but to me it can also be a song about a hero's final stand against a seemingly impossible foe, and then giving their absolute all even though they know they may not win regardless of the effort they put in. Don't ever forget how far you've come, and the road you took and the people who took it with you, cause you never know how long you have with them. Keep your most percious people in your heart for all of eternity, and never let them leave it. My life was changed by a single person, a lot like the protagonist of this game, and I love them very deeply, and will gladly fight the world for them if I have to.

This song taught me that it's always okay to cry. Ever since my grandmother passed away in February 2020, I learned how to be tough, but it got to the point where I forgot how to cry. I kept holding onto my hopes, even in June when my last grandparent passed away. But, when August came around, my best friend's father passed away from a brain bleed. That's when I finally broke. My parents sent me and my sisters to my cousin's house for the weekend to sort things out, but that was the first time I cried in over six months. Rest In Peace Dollie Davis, Ruth Samuels, and Robert Artman. We will always miss you, and will never forget what you all did for us. Making us smile, listening to us when we were upset, and just being there for us. Thank you.

The love of a parent is sure to be recognised but I am certain that the relation between two friends can be stronger than any bond, and this game perfectly captivated this idea; that no amounts of doubts from others, no amount of persecutions from enemies, and even allies, no amounts of nightmares, frustrations, hopelesness, and betrayal can ever leave a dent on such a strong friendship between those two. So strong that not even physical, temporal and spatial parting can ever break the spiritual bond that they made through hardship, conversations, nightmares and reflections shared through various places of importance (the Beach, the quarter room etc.), emotional moments and adventures. The partner's genuine and heartfelt grief is strong because of the love for the first friend... You never gave up on him despite his doubts and unconfidence in his own abilities, that your belief in him was so deep, rooted and grounded, it gave him the chance of becoming the best version of himself. Which is why the grief was so touching and relatable, for the price of such love is this grief. This grief from such loving friendship was heard and was relieved. Never has such a game struck me so hard when it comes to the storytelling of losing someone genuinely dear to you, for I am still hoping that my own best friend will return from an unhealthy grasp by someone.

This song mixes from the Time gear theme, the partner theme, grovyle’s theme, Guardian of the lake theme, the sunrise theme, the beach theme and the main theme all to draw from nostalgia and really makes you feel the lost. The adventure is over and it’s not coming back. It’s a much more bleak sunrise. God what a masterpiece of music this song is. You can see how it dose all this too make the player cry and it’s diabolically brilliant.

Arceus ... i cannot listen to this song without breaking down in tears and its been over a decade since i played sky. that game is just.. it will forever be seared into my memories; and no matter how long i live i will always remember the absolute heatbreaking scene of my partner as i disappeared, leaving her behind. nor will i ever forget the relief and sheer joy of hers after dialga took pity on us and returned me. this story will never be able to be topped for me and its because of sky that i will always remain loyal to the pokemon franchise even when things are bad.

I swear to god this arrangement is a masterpiece. He took an already amazing song and picked just the right instruments, just the right flourishes, to make this THE BEST incarnation of the song out there. Absolute BS that this was illegal in France, it's a transformative work that highlights the musical genius that went into this game. Both OWNEYE and all the PMD composers involved in this deserve full credit to be recognized.

during my playthrough of pmd2 I noticed the game might have been referencing suicide during the end when you "die" and the majority of the post-game is about you and your partner having to "disappear" and everyone tells the two of you that you are loved and you don't have to "disappear". Almost like someone trying to convince a hurt and lost soul out of suicide...

May pmd never be forgotten. It's not graphics what makes a game be the very best it's the chills of a fight the excitment of achieving victory after trying hard and the pain of losing a friend for the greater good...it's all the feelings that you experience through out it .I believe the heart touching music in pmd amplified those feelings , there for making the best game i have ever played.

This is a beautiful remix that made me forget about the world around me and helped created a moment of peace. When I listen to this I feel like I can finally relase emotions I would otherwise keep inside under lock and key. So when I saw this remix go the first time I felt heartbroken. man this takes me back to 2009, where i was just a child living life without a care in the world. fast forward 10 years, i've met, and lost lost one of my best friends. we both played this game. I teared up at this point. this theme brings back memories i cherish dearly. i get the orginal person did not want this uploaded. but this brought a tear, and smile to me .

For some reason, reminds me of my dustox from my Omega ruby nuzlocke. He was caught very early on, with a beautifly obtained not long afterward. They were a duo that carried me through the early game. Though, due to a miscalculation and blind arrogance, beautifly fell to the fire gym. But, dustox lived on. He carried the weight of his fallen comrade through the rest of the run. Until the end. Facing Steven's cradily, he was used as a sacrifice for me to heal up the rest of my team. And even then, almost beat cradily. Until, an ancient power managed to finally reunite him with the one we'd lost so early. Godspeed, moth. I'd have never won without you.

I will be totally honest. I really get sad and for atleast a couple of weeks, I always think about the losses experienced in the game, no matter how many times I play the game, I get hit by the same feeling as I got the first time playing. Every time I know what is going to happen, but I still end up crying. That is a quality which not every game can possess. Hands down one of the best games from the storytelling view

To think a lot of gamers will never try these "spin offs". These games have more emotion and better story than any Pokemon game that has ever been made. Not crying because it's over, but because I had the pleasure to live it and tell the tale.

I just beat the main story today. Made me choke up a bit. When dialga brought be back it brought a tear to my eyes. The scene with grovyle got me a bit more... “Though the parting hurts... The rest is in your hands!” (he wasn’t referring to himself...) (He meant me and Zoey.) This made my eyes well up with tears. This is my favorite song of all time.

I love the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series....from day 1 all the way back to Red & Blue Rescue Time, these games have never failed to make me realize even when I was in pain and saw no light at the end of the tunnel, there would always be someone I could count on to pick me back up, someone to remind me the world couldn't be all bad, to remind me that even if we're destined to never see each other again, to never forget not just them, but the life I've made, all the friends and family I've made along the way, and that no matter what, they would await my return, even if I never came.......Idk I'm not good with the mushy stuff, but to sum it up, PMD never failed to make me cry, because it was all too real for me, I felt the pain of every little moment, but my best friend (Pokemon Partner) could always make me smile again, I would be strong for them in times of need, and I felt they did that for me, but PMD also taught me, that no matter what, if you or I disappeared tomorrow, someone in your life would be stricken with a grief of losing something they loved, and I could never do that to a friend...

Memories of the good times you spent with that person that you can always look back on and hope that one day even though the chances are small that you will meet each other in the future. A goodbye is inevitable it can't be avoided though it may be sad you should always remember what they did for you.
