Problem, if a wild animal steps on the sensor it'll get inside. That being said, I love it.

Perfect for indoor applications. I think most interested people would want to this to keep a cat's litter box in the bathroom but it's also useful if you only want to air condition/heat a confined space to save money but you don't want to lock out/in the pets.

I was just messing with gpt4 trying to design something like this for my dog and decided to see if there was something online. This is awesome! It would be even better with a proximity keyless entry lock. That would take care of wild visitors.

Rather easy if you think about it or if you’re mechanically inclined. You can simply tie the pneumatic door to a trigger such as a proximity dog collar or motion detector. Just like how automatic doors work in a grocery store.

@@rinconusmc Well, yes, but I'd like to see the actual actuator mechanism. All we can see here is drawer slides.

@@rinconusmcwhat you're stating is so simple simply doesn't apply. even if his question was "can anyone give me example of a similar door for reference" which it wasn't, it still wouldn't apply since the only thing than this dog door and a modern day grocery store have in common is they're both automated. Retail doors are not pneumatically operated nor do they open and close by sliding up and down on drawer slides when triggered by applying pressure to plate.

I would say it is forced up by the pneumatics and its just the air being released from the cylinder, combined with gravity that's closing it.
