Pobitora wildlife in Assam is known for its highest density of one horn Rhino in the world, It is located at a distance of 45 km from Guwahati. Pobitora is part of Mayong village which is known for black magic.
Following are the activities we did during the day
Jeep safari at Pobitora - 1500 ticket price - Rs 50 per person and Rs 200 for jeep entry in the wildlife.
Pobitora wildlife in Assam has the highest density of one horn Rhino in the world, total count of Rhino is 102.
Wildlife closed during april last week to sept last week during monsoon.
Lunch - we had lunch at a dhaba outside the wildlife, Rs 120 per thali.
Hanging bridge - Just inside the wildlife gate, there is a hanging bridge, its a pleasant experience to walk on it and do some photography.
River Dolphin safari - This activity was not such a good experience, as there are only few Dolphins in the river and by the time you realise that there is a Dolphin it goes inside the water.
Pakodia and Brahmaputra river sangam can be seen at this place. We paid Rs 2000, we were only 3 people but a max of 8 people can do this boat safari at cost of Rs 2000
Hotel - we stayed at Pobitora prashanti tourist lodge. This is located at a distance of 500 meters from the wildlife. Tariff - Rs 1800
Elephant safari - This costs Rs 650 per person, we did this in the morning, you need to book this in advance especially if you are going to Pobitora during the weekend.
Mayong village - This village is known for black magic, we visited this place to find out information about the history of black magic.
This person we met does not have any contact number, people visit him without any appointment and seek remedies for their medical problems, which means i don’t have any contact details of the person interviewed.
Chanaka - This is located at about 8 km from Pobitora wildlife. My tourists visit Chanka for a one day picnic, this is a newly developed tourist spot of Mayong.
Mayong museum - If you are in Pobitora then you must visit this museum to learn more about black magic history of this place.
Over all this was a great experience to be here at Pobitora, if you are in Guwahati and want to see one horn Rhino from a close distance, then Pobitora is a good national park to visit.
Many people travel to Pobitora in the morning and come back to Guwahati by night

I am from South India. It is great to learn about so many historic and wonderful places, products, people and culture of Assam and North East which many Indians in rest of India do not know about. Thanks to VLoggers and KZfaqrs who bring such amazing videos to the world and help us know about this great Indian state.

The most important thing about Harish Bali Sir is that, wherever he goes, he tries the local cuisine, without any hesitation. And he genuinely enjoys it, whatever it is. As a native of the state, it feels good to see travellers trying and enjoying our routine meals. Keep travelling Sir, and inspire us to travel as well. Cheers!!

@@JajaborMusic Ok but what can be do about this, I guess the only way is that C.M. Himanta Biswa Sarma should be in power for long time because BJP is not interested in this as they are not implementing NRC but C.M. of Assam is serious about this issue.

@@AsusZenfone-kz3fc HBS won't do nothing, Those bangladeshis are villain to a story that in every election time they need to tell to voters, to portray themselves as hero who will eventually come to save them. If they kill the villain, then what's the point of people needing the Hero? Hero's importance will just fade out. Hence they won't throw them out. If in reality HBS wants to throw them out, he can do it under 2-3 years. but he won't. That's politics my friend. And again we Assamese people don't have strong political and financial backing of central govt and Opposition parties to support us in doing it. They will object it. Since we don't have enough money to keep their mouth shut, there will be huge backlash against us. Assamese people will be portrayed as Bengaliphobic, Islamophobic, Outsiderphobic etc etc. Which we are not, but eventually facts will be turned around us to show us like that.

In places where food is very fresh, the cuisine tends to be very simple, very little spice. I was in Bengal and grew up with simple food. When I moved to Delhi the same cooking style did not taste good. The vegetables were not so fresh. I had to start cooking like the north indians with onion, garlic, ginger and tomatoes. Cuisine is based on the freshness of the ingredients.

To be honest we have congratulate the efforts of the government of India and the state governments since the time of independence for such wonderful conservational efforts. Project Tiger, Rhino etc. have safeguarded the survival of such keystone species. From the brink of extinction during the British era to such flourishing populations is due to the efforts of many conservationalists, local people and many more. Really makes you happy to see such efforts. Thank you:)

Bakhtiar Khalji, after conquering territories of Bihar and Bengal, marched towards Kamarupa in 1204-05 CE. At that time, the king of Kamarupa was Prithu. When Khalji entered Kamarupa, Prithu allowed him a free passage initially. When Khalji reached North Guwahati with his huge force of tactful one lakh army, Prithu employed the black magicians from Mayong, who were ardent followers of goddess Kamakhya and practised black magic within the Tantra cult associated with the goddess, to ensure the defeat of Khalji army. The magicians created a huge flood in Brahmaputra in the month of Chaitra (March-April) making it impossible for them to cross the river. Using this Golden opportunity, Prithu's small army of a few thousand soldiers ambushed on the army of Khalji and made them drown in the river and the whole of one lakh army vanished along with all the horses and ammunition. Thus the first attack on Assam by Delhi Sultanate was averted. This success of Kamrupa army was inscripted in the Kanai Baraxiboa Rock Inscription, which read as "sak 1127 sake turaga yugmese. madhumase troyodose kamarupa samagatya. turushka kshayamayyu.", which means, "In Saka 1127 on the thirteenth of the month of honey (Chaitra) upon arriving in Kamarupa, the Turks perished."
