So there I was, just casually watching KZfaq and there goes Miniac and Geek Gaming planting ideas in my head! Pocket Hammer is my absolute new favorite Warhammer game! It's insanely rewarding to make armies, it's super low stress, and did I mention, it's FREAKIN TINY! I'm really not quite sure what got me so much with this variant of Warhammer, but it's insanely fun.
YOU DON'T NEED A 3D PRINTER TO GET THESE MINIS
eBay Forest Dragon minis and you can buy these minis from people who have permission to print and sell them! Probably info I should have mentioned in the video, but better here than never.

Printing 15mm, 10mm and 6mm scale miniatures has made me feel like a giddy 13 year old discovering the hobby for the first time, fast to paint, cheap to print and loads of free rulesets to use them with. I've just printed 3k points of 6mm Imperial Guard for Epic Armageddon and I'm printing 1k taster armies for my friends. I also have plans for Horus Heresy and WHFB in 15mm. Sooooooo exciting :D

I was having a friend of mine print out epic scale minis for the same reasons. Due to a growing family, I no longer have the space to lay out a 4x6 battlefield and even solo a game of 40K. So I figured I’d shrink it all down and still get a fun game in shrunk down to the size of kill team. Great video!

This video actually inspired me to make my own 6mm killteam case and just being able to have a game's worth of stuff in my pocket has been such an awesome tome 😁 everyone should make themselves one of these, the scale forces you to think differently on how to do everything and it's an amazing learning experience one addition I wanted to make is that painting 6mm then switching to 32mm again, you realize how much space and detail there is as they feel quite huge comparatively.

So we've done the same with heresy models, being able to play 10,000pt per side games is amazing. However for AoS you could easily get away with movement trays, simply magnetize the models to the trays so you can remove them as they lose minis 😁

Something I've been thinking about since you mentioned this on podcast was, what if the pencil cases or cases that you would carry these in were to fold out and become the play mat, as an all in one container. Sure you might have to carry a few bits of scatter terrain but the board would already be set with the container itself.

For most of my 15mm historicals, I use different colored felt for the various terrain. Need a hill? Cut a blob out of felt and use a sharpie to draw the elevation and hilltop. Need a river, cut a bending strip of blue felt. Need a road? Do the same thing as a river but use grey or a tan. Want a farm? Cut a pasture and use a sharpie to draw in the plowed lines. This packs up VERY small and could even be used to provide padding for the 3d prints.

When I was younger I hated smaller scale stuff, because they were mostly glued to movement trays. I loved pulling individual units off as they die, instead of an abstraction of dice. But I love having the right number of troops in a unit without them represented by 1 guy : 10 guys. Plus, 28mm take sup SO much room. And smaller scale has been cheaper and allows to test games in small storage.
@Samsminis

Did the same thing a few days ago but stuck to 10mm and it was ... a challenge gluing them onto those movement trays. Had to trim their support bases, but it was fun to mix and match the lines of "chaos warriors" and come up with unique battle lines. Not actually playing warhammer, but was inspired by the same two videos to try to paint at the same scale. They're primed and ready to go in the other room, I'm just... procrastinating as I don't really know how to approach it yet.

killteam has been my travel 40k. managed to get all the figures from the octarius set and the other bits and pieces into a tupperwear box for taking on my motorbike trip. no terrain tho. def would be nice to be able to take enough guys for a full game. one problem i see with the small figures is finding someone else with the same scale to play with tho.

I halved the scale for Gaslands and printed out cars, templates everything in 1/2 size. So much simpler to get a game set up quickly now. And I believe it lowers the barrier for trying out the game among my friends. Now I just need to create and print out some basic teams so the barrier is even lower.

Definitely on my list of things to try. What's the DLP printer like? I'll be picking one up when the kickstarter ships

I started playing bolt action at 15mm scale and did not change any measurements, now pistols shot more then a transport truck length but not overly far. I'm using Flames of War minis, but there is tons of other manufacturers of 15mm figures. You can buy a whole army for around 45 bucks, the Flames of war platoon boxes are like a full army for bolt action. Other historical games in this scale are also super cheap.
