Actually. Consumers wanted flat design 😂 Anyways. 60hz is definitely a drawback. In display sensor aren't as accurate as side mounted/power button integrated. Btw. Almost every consumer wants sd processor over Exynos...Ur relevance? Majority wants flat screen (were happy with 21). Nobody wanted the no-charger thing. We're afraid android would follow.....and they did. Sooo....yeah. Every company out there is greedy tbh.

@@EeBee97 I know. I'm just over this android vs Apple bs. People are just blind lovers at this point. Just can't take any opinion. Personally....I don't need 120hz refresh rate...I don't play games n all....just browsing and social media (so, I'm definitely not the correct person to judge the 120hz thing) But I do need smooth operation which apple gives me without any extra load on battery. I don't need flagships either but ip rating and 5.5-6.5 inch screen is what I need the most. Glad Sammy is gonna have ip rating on A72 and A52(I guess). And the biggest trend. Huge phones...just dumb. I would rather choose tablets or my pc for work rather than jamming everything into that 7inch screen phone. They don't even fit in pockets.

I have the Note 20 Ultra and my husband just got the S21 Ultra. Both are amazing phones. I could never give up my galaxy phones! iPhone just can't compete, imo.

Idk if people haven't left IOS by now then they probably never will. I curiously await the specs and photos of the galaxy fold three. I think the folding phones are the next level of smart devices that seems to have plateaud in today's market. One phone looks almost exactly like the other regardless of brand, with the exception of a notch or punch hole display.

@@AaronFigFront all gadgets apart from phone get old slowly. iPad Pro,MacBook, watchs design stay same for 4-5 generations. Being the most used gadget, upgrading to an identical looking phone must be very boring. And there are some features that you won’t get in an iPhone like Dex, single take, portrait video, photo shooting capability from macro to 30x. Let me ask you, what would you pay for dex like feature in an iPhone? Don’t worry, apple won’t do that. Than people won’t buy their iPad and MacBook anymore.

@@MegaDizz23 do you even own a galaxy? There are no ads in stock apps, save the the galaxy store and the only ads that might appear in your notification are from it. By the way, you can disable that at any time by tap-holding the app>app info>notifications and then unselect "promotions"

I've always been an iPhone man but was really curious about the S21 Ultra mainly the zoom. I have several friends that had the 12 Pro Max so I didn't want to join the herd so this time I went with the Samsung and I'm quite happy. I did find out that Apple usually makes things work very well with as much Simplicity as possible and indeed the Android phone took me awhile to set up and get comfortable with. Having said that there's no way you could go wrong with either phone but the added Zoom made the difference for me. I always appreciate these videos, you have a friend in Columbus Ohio!

Linux was always good with little memory... Similar story with Iphone.. it's OS design, so here sizes of RAM are more like 'apple' to 'orange' comparison. Don't confuse yourself.

@@zawaprz If you really want the facts Android is a lighter version of Linux, where as iOS is a locked down version of it, using Apple's proprietary coding (Codenamed Darwin). Fact remains both are Linux derivatives and no matter what the OS, more memory is always better for operating. Either way, Android seems to be a much more fluid OS at the moment compared to iOS.

I believe that iOS and Android both have great things to offer and I've bounced back and forth between the two every couple of years. I had the s20U and did not notice 120Hz, so for the past 9-months it has been off and I get 1-2h extra SoT instead! Science says about 30% plus of people do not notice these refresh rates and if you are not used to a higher refresh rate it is not as obvious. It is very subjective and as it is really only superficial, for many of us it is not a big deal. At least it is dynamic on the s21U so you can benefit when you do a lot of reading as I do, as the rate will drop to 10Hz and save battery. That is the only reason I want it, as I do not fast scroll through web pages or my UI (just use one home screen). I think it is def overhyped.

That's interesting as I noticed immediately from my s10 plus to my s20 ultra then had iPhone 12 pro max and was underwhelmed with it. Now using the s21ultra and the entire UI is just smoother and fluid. But I also have a 120hz TV and 144hz computer and 120hz tablet so for me it's not just fast scrolling, it makes everything more fluid and smoother.

@@bathams actually because it's and LPTO 120hz display, it can adjust refresh rate per the content you are doing. So for example is I'm just simply reading it will be at let's say 10 hz, it is adaptive. I also have it on 1440p or wqhd resolution and I get through the whole day just fine. The ui and software does a great job at maintaining battery life. There are plenty of reviews showing this phone has excellent battery life. I also am not on my phone all day either as I work 8 hours a day, but on days off I have used my phone heavily and still had about 30 percent battery before bed which is somewhere around 10-1030 pm.

I've had my s21 ultra for 2 weeks now coming from a note 10 plus. I absolutely love this phone's camera and design. I've been using the zoom camera to take pictures of the moon and people can't believe it came from a phone. I couldn't believe it the first time i seen it. It's a little less curved in the ends unlike my note 10 which is a good thing because it's screen protector doesn't come off with my otterbox defender case unlike the note.to me, it's just alot cleaner all across the board

I think this Is the best, unbiased comparison I’ve seen and I’ve seen some really good ones. You talk about things that matter to people as some of the specs the average person won’t even care about. Now I don’t have the 12 pro max but I do have the 11 Pro Max and just ordered the 21 ultra although it hasn’t got here yet. Watching your video equips me and someways for my expectations and then of course I will do some comparisons. Your video was not only informative it was very interesting and fun to watch. What an amazing phone with the galaxy watch and smart tag what an amazing pre-book deal...and so glad I did not got the iPhone... and seriously the 120hz display is soo smooth also 100x zoom is also very usable on a tripod...Camara department, display, Haptics, also the battery🥰 Hate me or what, ngl this time samsung just nailed it😇

@@rishvify thanks for the reply. I have s20. I really like it. But I envy iphones video capability. Plus people saying it's ios is slightly better and it has some exclusive apps. So I'm curious why iPhone isn't on the 1st place. 120hz not that important to me, better preserve battery charge. But with that new variable refresh rate would definitely use it all the time.

New android is soo much better than ios, aslo i have s20 as well but the broblem is that s20 has a lesser capacity battery and exinos chip uses a lot more power!! And generally speaking, people who say android is worse than ios is litral dumb😑 they are sheeps who just can't take anything better than iphone and wont accept something better than iphone also, 120 makes it so smooth and would definately make the experiance much better...

The amazing thing about the 108mp camera is that if you take a picture on its 108mp setting, you can zoom on and in on that picture and loose almost no clarity, and its just astonishing. Not to mention that you can do some pretty cool astrophotography and macro shots with the ultra as well as record in 8K and have options to customize things like HDR and scene optimizer.

I had an order for galaxy s21 ultra but when they said order is delayed for 1 month I just cancelled bought an iphone 12 instead and I'm so happy I did ...first iphone ever owned ... incredible piece of machine wow.

I have both too but the iPhone 12PM's been sitting in the drawer since I got the Ultra. It's the most uncomfortable phone I've ever held. If you could combine the 2. How would you go about it? What would your perfect hybrid be?😀

@@Mrnovanova Agreed about the 12PM being really uncomfortable, I’ve returned it for that reason. The S21U is far easier to handle, but sadly still too heavy for my taste. It’s sad how tech companies don’t seem to care about the sheer weight of their flagships anymore

@@simoneaz80 they do, the s10 series was a showcase of light powerful phones, but with the shift to battery... a light phone with poor battery performance is a no go for sales.. low battery is a deal breaker yet people can put up with heavy phones.. also blame KZfaq reviewers who praised iPhone for feeling premium because they were heavy in the hand.. Sammy was listening :(

Ive been switching back and forth for years between iOS and android and I’m at the point where I don’t need all the bells and whistles anymore. The s21 ultra is way more capable of a phone hands down but there’s something to say about the simplicity, the build quality, and usability of the 12 pro max. The one huge downside I couldn’t deal with anymore was not being able to send videos and photos to iPhone users. Having many group chats and all of them using iPhones it was getting old not being able to use iMessage

I have a question to anybody that is watching this now... I live in the UK and my upgrade comes up soon, however the European version of the 21 Ultra has an Exynos in it and it's essentially a lot worse than the Snapdragon version in the US... is it still worth getting the Ultra or should I go for the Pro Max - I currently use the S10 Ultra 5G

This was an excellent analysis of the two phones while acknowledging that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, if you’re not locked into the Apple ecosystem, I don’t know why you’d choose iPhone. The two major brands continually challenging each other, with ardent fans on both sides, should make them both better in the long run, but I feel Samsung just offers more.

10:30 look close to the iPhone and you can see micro flashing in a snow, that's literally what most reviewers mentions. It just flicker with a stabilisation.. even colours are better watch it on a 4k TV and those flickers will be visible more and more

@@THELOGANHART I actually have iPhone 12 Pro Max , as far as video goes it’s the best you can get . But still lot of problems in low light , wide lens sucks in anything, but lot of light. Front video is garbage even more then other flagships , hdr video is problematic to edit ..

Last Samsung phone I used was S3, which I really really liked. After I switched to nexus/pixel, now back to Samsung and I feel exactly same way as I did with s3. Galaxy 21 ultra is amazing but I still don't like the Samsung UI. I wish Samsung released a stock android version. 😢 Overall it's a beauty and beast.

One question for the S21U users, can you guys invoke the Google Assistant by just saying 'Hey Google' even when the phone is a few feet away? Also does a user have to disable Bixby or whatever Assistant Samsung provides in order to access Google Assistant each an every time I produce a query? Finally, does the 'Read It' function works acceptably well when browsing Chrome sites and while using the Google app that provides Discover, Snapshot, Search, Collections, etc.? Those are things I can use and enjoy with my venerable OnePlus 6 but it's getting a bit old and Samsung seems to provide the right replacement. Thanks in advance!

I bought both and ended up returning both. In my heart I know the samsung is better for me but I still want the iPhone. In my opinion the Ultras design is quite unappealing.

@@panther_rawr4367 I kept my iPhone 5S until couple weeks ago. Spent a month watching KZfaq videos on iPhones and samsung ultras, using my sisters Samsung ultra as well as my family members. They both got great features but in the end I’m more fluid using the iPhone being used to it for years. Finally upgraded to iPhone 12 Pro Max gold and being a big jump from 5 you can feel the difference. Feels great personally like the look of iPhones 4 and 5 didn’t like the curved iPhones and not fluid enough using Samsung’s so go with what you feel best with both using the phone and feel of it. The new Samsung ultra is awesome but so is the iPhone 12 Pro max, I suggest try using a Samsung phone to see if you like it in case. All down to individual preference

Just because Samsung manufactures Apple’s displays doesn’t mean they should earn all the credit. In fact, Samsung manufactures them according to Apple’s specifications. Just like how TSMC manufactures Apple’s processors but Apple is the one designing / giving the blueprint to them. So you’re being proven to be the sheep here, not the ones arguing against you :)

@Benjamin Owuye Jagun Ya really brought the Chip/Procceser up.... Just gonna let it hang with this. Even with the A14 and Apples chips being more powerful etc, most of the time it doesn't matter when it isn't using the power. The Snapdragon 888 seems better because the hardware is to the max and uses the chip. The A14 is so good and better but for what reason x) But ofc if it fits you it fits you ｡◕‿◕｡ Then it dosent matter what phone you have/want

My s21 ultra arrives march 1st! Free smart tag, ear buds pro, and a discount on the s pen and case with it. Plus 4 months youtube premium plus a trade in discount on my cracked s10 + all comes down to just under 1k. It was a no brainer for me to go with this vs the iphone 12 pro max.

@@Melvin-ej1vq the thing is I don't use my camera. I'm not that type to take a pic of everything. I'm not even that picky with specs. I love my s9+. Samsung speakers and customizable stuff is the reason I really like Samsung. That's basically it lol. But I like how smooth and refined iPhone runs. There's a special right now at ATT right now. I can get a 12 max pro for 400 bucks. So that's why I'm leaning towards the iPhone. But yea it's hard cause I do like the Samsung. But I like the old school design of the new iPhone too. So I'm stuck 😂

Nice video. JR is one of the few reviewers that actually declares a winner. Both are great phones. I did get the S21 Ultra for $800 off (trade in for my Pixel 4a) and a $200 Samsung store credit (to help pay for the missing brick and buds). I will never pay over $1000 for any phone.

This is probably the last year of upgrades being worth it. Each brand has phones that have such good tech in them that there is no need to upgrade. Like my Xr is 2.5 years old and still kicking it and just as fast as when I first got it. No reason to upgrade besides from a want rather than a need.

People won't ever stop upgrading because companies won't stop innovating. I suggest you look up the solid state battery. Capable to be charged at a much higher voltage, use more power, and last longer because it doesn't use a liquid electrolyte.

If Samsung improved the video quality when recording and brought back the micro SD card slot, I'll be back on board but, at the moment, I won't be upgrading until these issues are resolved. With the emaculate quality of all Samsung technologies across the board, I refuse to believe the video quality on the S21 Ultra is the best they can give us.

Some people want local storuage on the phone, NOT cloud storage...because of phone reception issues and size of files using masses of phone data...which again, costs more money for more data. 3. cloud services are FARR too trusted by people... Dropbox participated in PRISM, a secret government surveillance program, and was also subject to a breach in 2012 when millions of passwords were stolen. 4. It takes 30 seconds to put my SD card in another phone. 5. Android is about choices...something that samsung is forgetting. May as well just go Pixel or 1Plus. I could go on, but I really wish people would stop putting others in the same box as everyone else.

I think they both cost too much, but some carriers do have an $800 trade in bonus for the S21 series. So that eases the price by a lot.
