That's not a bug its a feature the prox sensor of this phone is kinda different when the phone is on the table it doesn't work. These proximity sensors only works when u hold the phone Vertical

I just got the phone for less than 30hours. But I do love it cos of the raw performance and the camera. It's a lot better then my Redmi note 5 pro in literally all aspects. But the battery life is pretty mediocre for a phone this size. The non-proximity sensor will get some getting used to smh. Overall an 8/10 cos Poco F3 is really good for the price.

What is the gcam tool for?

That was my problem at first as well but I figured for the price, the 256/8 variant is just too good to pass up. I'm coming from the razer phone 2 which had 64GB and very iffy SD card support and dealt with that for 2 years. Honestly just wish it had a 3.5mm jack but again since the razer phone doesn't have one Ive gotten used to it. I remember when I thought 64GB phones were massive lol

Both are good, the F3 is more future proof though so I'll go with it if you are me. Also, a bigger batter, screen and higher touch sampling rate for the F3

Xiaomi phones doesn't depreciate fast. So if you were to get one, might as well as buy now because I doubt that the price would go down until the next poco flagship comes out

@@achilisdragoon2822 QC issues just mean it's not validated enough, not that you'll definitely run into an issue. Reddit is full of complaints and also with satisfied people. That's the nature of flagship killers i guess.

It's not well validated, the display quality can be very different from one unit to the other, this does not happen in "every device", flagships are validated a lot more thoroughly and the differences between one unit to the next will be minimal to nonexistent.

@@elirantuil5003 I'm not talking about QC issues with the screen, I was on about the Reddit part in general but every phone will have a QC issue, maybe not as prominent as the Poco F3 but they are there nonetheless regardless of flagship or not. I ordered a laptop that was know for QC issues at the time, I didn't have a problem with it. People buy flagships and have QC issues too but most people don't. It doesn't matter what phone you have there will always be people who have complaints or people who have the utmost praise for it and every phone has some issue with it. All the recent flagships have overheating issues because of the processor. Either way you can't guarantee what you're getting has an issue with it or not. Ok so the Poco is known to have QC issues and is validated, fair enough. I see your point, I was just talking about the Reddit bit, there's always people on there complaining or praising, also the bit where you said that's the nature of flagship killers, it's the nature of any technical product you get to come across a QC issue or Redditers.

Agree. still rocking a poco f3 and because I got a headphone jack stuck in the hole its permanently on headset mode and speakers won't work. Atleast I can use bluetooth so that's that. But yeah the value of the poco f1 can't be beaten

Mobile chipsets are completley different to desktop. You cannot compare their clockspeeds as a desktop CPU does far more. Also GHz speeds these days literally mean nothing. Just look at todays desktop CPU's that have lower GHz speeds than they did a few years ago but yet they are still better and faster today.

I get between 7 to 8 hours screen on time at 120hz you do realise that's about as good as it gets at 120hz on any phone I would go as far as to say the battery life is one of the best out for a 120hz display

@@rickaustin3077 Now that you mention it, I play a lot of CODM so I got around 4.5 hours with 120hz on. I haven't added my sim yet so battery life will differ when I do. But I only got 7-8 hours with just 60hz.

@@potatoesrsogood yes and no For the most part yeah but you have to hold it in a slightly awkward position while talking since the sensors are on top of the phone It was a bit of a problem for the first week or so but now I don't notice it But it does not bother me

Not only the cameras. U get better design, build, display, software and the main reason for me is size. There no mid-high range phones that doesn't have a normal size display. I don't like any display over 6.2 at max. With older flagships I can't get good sized display with better resolution and quality than the new mid-high range phones. Let's compare two $300 phones the poco x3 pro and the galaxy s10. One is a new mid-high range and one is an older flagship. They have practically the same chipset. But with the s10 u get a better display, better cameras, better software, better build, and better looking phone. The poco x3 pro has 120hz and bigger display which is also a big deal. It's just personal preferamce what u want. I've held the poco in my hand and it's so heavy and big. The screen is almost the size of my first tablet few years ago.

Okay but can we talk about the fact that buying an S10 nowadays means that its very likely to have been remanufactured, with a barely acceptable battery life that very soon will need a change. And lets also talk about that a Lot of phones like that are very likely to be stolen phones. You don't know which pieces are new, which pieces are original. Two year old used flagships are waay too overrated just for the fact of it's Specs and price. But no One talks about of which implications brings buying a 2 year old used flagship. U get a better camera and a smaller phone, sure but at which cost??
