A solid device, but honestly I just can’t get excited about this release for one BIG reason.

If manufacturers insist on wanting to "fill out" their catalogue with rebranding the least they could do is an incremental spec bump like the processor. This phone would come with the POCO tweeks in design and an increase from the MT Helio G95 to the Dimensity 820. Or in the Redmi Note 10 Pro's case from the SD 732G to the 778G+ with an increase in the charging speed to 50W+ from 33W. THEN the rebranding would be more passable but this is a straight clone with just a "different" POCO look.

It's basically rebranded Redmi Note 10S, how is this more hyped? Spec wise, it's the same, other than the back design changes with the brand name title and the more latest Android 12, which is pretty much it.

Pretty much all the phones price goes down after a year of release. That's how it's always been but now Xiaomi and realme are rebranding their old phone with or without little improvement but the price stays above the old phone's release price. Also in past few years they have been releasing so many phones each rebranding in different countries that it has become very difficult to choose and compare phones value wise.

This rebrand strategy is not gonna work because people will tire of buying same device with different branding name. This is why all their phones suffer for the latest software update because they focus more on producing new phones and rebranding the old ones than getting them updated. I just hope they listen one day and do what customers and fans wants. Good job Frankie 👍🏻

Agreed Benjamin! This is just one rebrand too many for me. Enough is enough! I just had to mention it because it is the truth. This rebrand strategy has gotten very tiring and the views and interest from the audience of these releases proves it.

With the increase of prices nowadays, I think rebrand or selling it as product S version becomes more sensible because they can skip the cost of designing new phone and also the manufacturing of parts. Making it competitive with the market. Yes is going to look the same with an older phone, but technically it is a new launch with an offering that competes well with a newer phone. Newly launched phones basically sell the software updates as the most important features. Why not support older phones? Well older phones sell as is in the past with short software updates at low prices. It doesn't make money

Well, from the same price range of my deceased and beloved Xiaomi Redmi Note 7... I'm quite happy with this one that I am receiving tomorrow. You know, I can't buy another Note 7 and this one, even though the elephant-in-the-room issue... it is even cheaper than the Note 10S. Well... thank you for the rebrand, Xiaomi... and for your review, man. PS: the lacking of stabilization might be a downer for this one (besides the night photos quality). You can't get it all, right :D

Personally I think that rebranding phones is better than realsing budget crap like poco c40. 1st as long as you support both phones you can basically make 1 software for 2 different phones when xiaomi already has so many models that the software suffers. 2nd after the redmi note 10s loses support it will be easier to port the software from the poco to redmi.

What is the benefit of rebranding a redmi to a poco? I can only think few reasons, one is they didn't reach sales target and still have lots of stock. If the price point is a little higher than used redmi phone but with one year warranty. Then i think it's good for customers. But if the price is higher that its redmi"s version, then I'm not sure what's the point.

Xiaomi was the first to give amoled displays if they give in display scanner and increase a price a bit. People would still buy.

when you don t disclose reason other than re-branding you look like a fool. poco brand have loyal fan base to low pricing. did you even mention the ir? most useful for anyone going on holiday or if you re like me stuck on repeat medical visits to change channel or at least raise volume in waiting room.
