Thank you for this video. My Xiaomi X3 Pro had stopped charging. I had installed a new USB-C board, but that brought no success. The problem was that I had not attached the rubbers of the old board, which were installed around the USB-C slot on the new board. There is no thermal paste on sd 860. What do you think about this design?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 жыл бұрын
You're right, usually there would be a thermal pad or paste between the copper tape and the processor as well, but the tape is very flush with the processor so I guess it still does the job since it has the thermal paste on top of the tape still. Not sure what the reason was for not also including one in between the processor and tape, maybe space? no clue.

@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Yes you are correct, it seems it has thermal paste on the outside but none over the chipset itself. Seems kind of odd why they would not include it. Usually some sort of thermal paste or a thermal pad is needed to properly draw heat away from the chipset to the other heat transfer materials.

Im not able to remove the backplate. 3 questions. 1) how safe is it to apply heat? 2) Whats the estimate time of applying heat (with a hair dryer) before im able to remove it? 3) do i need a special item to do so or is for example a guitar pick sufficient? Thank you for the video!
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews Жыл бұрын
Hi, its safe, just use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun which is safer against damaging anything. You can gradually heat it so its hot to the touch, just move it around all areas to evenly heat it up. Then you can use a suction cup tool to help you lift up and pull up a side or corner to get your guitar pick in, then you can apply more heat as you work your way around prying it off. You can always use a metal tool like a razor blade etc to get in between the glass and frame without using a suction cup tool, but you would scratch up the frame.

@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 жыл бұрын
I usually try not to use different thermal paste since every type of thermal paste has a conductivity rating. Some are more conductive vs others based of the type of material they are composed of. Using something more conductive can cause your phone to short if the thermal paste gets onto other chips or between resistors making a connection between two chips and so forth.

Shouldn't be that hard. You can always apply a little heat with a hair dryer or use isopropyl alcohol. 👍

Hi, when you have loose or broken charging port/sub board. What is the usual repair or what to solder? I always have the same problem in my 3 phones and it cost alot to fix over and over. Maybe you can help me by making a video. I hope you consider this. Thank you very much god bless
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 2 жыл бұрын
Your best bet would be to order a replacement sub board or charger port board and replace that board. Soldering requires special tools and experience to be able to replace just the charger port itself.

some people say that the heating issue is due to no thermal paste on the phone, is this true? Could it be a software related problem?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely possible. The thermal paste was not the best I have seen lol. Replacing it could help, also the copper heat pipe looked much cheaper than the one used in the prior X3.

Hey I have a question Is the imei number writting inside the phone . Or there is any qr code . Which gives you the imei number. Did you saw anything like that while dissembling the device ?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews Жыл бұрын
Yes, on this device there is an IMEI sticker on the top left corner once the back panel is removed. But usually most phones won't have IMEI stickers internally. In most cases it would be on the sim tray.

Hey bro, this is a very late comment so im not sure if you will see this but if u do then please reply to this question, I have heard certain poco x3 pros do not have thermal paste on top of the SoC and which is also a good reason for death issue of poco x3 pro, alongside the 732g frame which is being used by the sd860. Are all these info true❓ And like yesterday my phone had a white screen with a blue tint in the middle, is this a sign that it will die soon and i should get it reballed + thermal pasted❓
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 4 ай бұрын
Hi. Not sure exactly what is causing those issues if it was a bad soldering job on the board or if its the overheating etc. But yeah the thermal paste wasn't the best which was applied on these phones, so you can always replace it with better thermal paste. Just don't use anything that is highly conductive since if it leaks, it will short the phone. Also the issue you said could be both a screen issue or board issue so not sure.

Looking at the design it look like most of the heat produced by soc is dissipated to the screen by a heat pipe, i wonder if i put a thermal pad on the back of the soc so that the heat can transfer more efficiently to the back cover would work. Or a paste if a pad is too thick?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it would help much but I don't see it being a bad thing. In general, replacing the thermal compound or paste on this phone to a better one should help a bit.
@elham7459

It looks like no electrically conductive parts behind the back cover just insulated battery, NFC antena, and sub-board cover, right? Planned to buy custom aluminum back cover to replace the original plastic one, the seller and review say it's precise. But I still doubt if it can screw with something. Also does adding adhesive necessary or loosened post-disassbembly one is enough to hold it in place?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews Жыл бұрын
You would need to apply new adhesive to hold it in place, but keep in mind the aluminum will block signal on the back. There are antenna lines drawn on the top and bottom plastic covers (motherboard cover and speaker assembly cover) as well as nfc antenna.

These are on offer on Amazon UK right now, along with F3. £229 and £299 respectively - or close to that anyway. Edit: X3 Pro 8/256GB = £229 - F3 5G 8/256GB = £329 and £199 & £299 for the 128GB models in several colours.

Hello mate, I literally don't have much of an idea about this technical stuff but I do have a question. How much is it going to cost if I were to have the battery replaced? Preferrably an authentic battery and also including the price of the labor. Oh and if needed, I am from the Philippines

Can this phone add 5G chip? Like solder it or something. Cuz I hear this one should be have 5G external chip, but they decided to not add on it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure about the external chip but would not really be able to solder a 5G modem onto the phone board since it would not only require expert soldering skills but also additional resistors and software modifications as well.
