I'm Australian and I've never heard most of the shit. Sandwich is sanga, no one really says cut lunch anymore. We say relo's for relatives! Bonnet is right, ''pop the bonnet mate''. Basically we just cut the word in half and add an 'o' or an 'a' to the end.

I say rellies for relatives, it's different for every state. most of those words won't be used in metro areas, more in the country with older people.

We use bugger in Aus too. It technically means anal sex, but it isn't used that way. It's used more like oh shit! you'd say bugger. Or can also be a friendly insult, like "you little bugger" "you cheeky bugger". Bollocks is also used in the same way as oh shit, or bugger.

Same, I was thinking maybe it's specific to certain areas, bugger does not mean that here neither does boiler. Where the fuck are these from? None of them are used anywhere near me or anywhere that I've heard of and the ones I knew had crap definitions. Grass was right and that's the only one I knew.
@TheShinyShow
@TheShinyShow 8 жыл бұрын
+NatalieNIM I knew piece (sandwich), boiler (ugly), bugger (it doesn't mean anal sex), stroppy (angry childish type thing), "up the duff" (pregnant, never heard of duff like they had), grass (snide), chat up, trampy (slagish), biscuit, solicitor and bollocks. Charva, deshuffed, duff make no sense to me.
@suchnothing
@suchnothing 8 жыл бұрын
+EsotericFallacies Bugger does mean anal sex, but it's often not used that way. Usually the way I hear it used is as a general curse (oh, bugger!) or as a way of saying that something bad was done to you (we got totally buggered) and things like that. It's kind of interchangeable with "fuck" or "screwed", and is often used the same way - to fuck or screw means to have sex (in slang terms), but it's more often used to mean other things, like getting "fucked up" or "screwed over" or whatever. A lot of every day curse words have their origins in sexual innuendo. Knackered is another one. It means your exhausted from all the sex you're having, but tends to get used in non-sexual situations more often.

That app is how writing my resume and filling out applications makes me feel! Before the interview, you are completely judged on what you can write down. Personality, motivation, and work ethic are what really make a difference, and the only way to do that is in person!

Born in Australia, always lived here, and all these Aussie slangs are fucking with my head, I know like two so far HAHAHAHA. Bonnet, and relies (tho I'd say relos), grog like everyone knows.. like pretty much any that shocked you guys shocked me (and my Ma who is also watching with me).. one word ones I guess were easy but the weird long ones are mad old school and no one really says them anymore unless you live out in the bush really

I've never heard furphy before and I'm Aussie Never heard g'arn either Bonnet is right :) Take a bog means take a poop Like when ur hungover from an alcohol induced party u call it "grog bog" :) Lift is right Boozer is the drunk person that's always drunk Grog is alcohol Never heard hit ur kick (Australia doesn't usually have cheerleaders all that often) For someone to pick up the tab is "ur shout" not hit ur kick Never heard good oil either Most of those were horrible lol

In America we say “loon” for that. Not like commonly but it’s an old phrase. “That old loonie bird!” “She’s such a loon.” Sorry this comment is so late lol
