Maybe I missed it somewhere and if I did let me know. Love watching your bow reviews even if I'm not in the market for one to just see what people came out with for the year. Would it be possible on these bow videos that when the news ones drop you put up a master list at the end of the video to show what the bows rank against the others. Thanks and keep up the awesome reviews!

I agree about carbon vs aluminum. I shot a bunch of bows when looking for a new bow this year and the RX7 is what I ended up with, just an easier/smoother draw cycle
@gratefuldude829 ай бұрын
I went and shot both today and I agree! I love that new color! Hoyt did an awesome job this year. I have an rx7... don't really see a big enough difference for me to upgrade but it's definitely slight improvement on a bow I didn't think could be improved!

FMJJ You rock buddy. You really gave me some good information on these new Hoyt bows that I have been waiting for. I currently shoot a RX-1 or I am definitely on to my pro shop and order up the RX-8 sick review Josh keep up the killer work!!!
@Orr_s9 ай бұрын
I shoot an RX-1 also still! And im reallyyy considering a phase 4-29 due to how long the riser is otherwise id be longer ATA for sure at 29.5”+ draw. But the new Bowtech’s reallyyy are hard not to gravitate towards with all the great features now. The mathews are also price gouging with all their patented high priced stabilizer, quiver and compatible sight bar too

The draw cycle and cam design makes my bow a real pain to shoot lots of reps with even backed all the way down to 70#s it used to be at 76

I’m not bagging on your reviews but your second shot with the rx8 on the vibration was 6 something. The camera was on the reader and when you shot that was the number and when you moved it went to 12. I think you may want to record the reader at the shot and then review the footage for the number. May give you different reading on those bows you thought read high and felt great.
@kellenpucher28499 ай бұрын
Whoa - for that carbon to produce so little vibration, have an easy/smooth dry cycle, and to produce a 335ish ATA speed is crazy good.
@jimrice46994 ай бұрын
I think the vibration was actually fairly high and he left the bottom stabilizer on with the Carbon and did NOT have the lower stabilizer on with the aluminum riser Alpha. I think Carbon tends to vibrate more....

The things I look at when I go to buy a bow are.1 price. 2 adjustability. 3 speed. 4 comfort and comfort to me is the Backwall. I currently own a 2018 bear divergent 28 and 2020 bear status eko. I've been in every year to see the new bows and shoot them but I never commit to buying one I just get new strings and cables made.

some nice tweaks to a solid line but a lot of reflex compared to other options. I like the breakdown with the two bows at the same time

MFJJ also said in another video that Hoyts were one of the most accurate bows, or the most accurate, I can't remember exactly. I know the reflex measurement is more geared towards forgiveness, and accuracy and forgiveness aren't necessarily the same thing. I just found it interesting.

3 Days ago @ our local range a friend who just back to archery after a 20 yr lay off… anyways he picked up a fully loaded rx8 shot it for 3 months no glitches 👌🏾however 3 days ago ? While we both were practicing at 70 I saw him take a last shot then we took a short 5 minute break..well after the break we went back to shooting however when he went to draw his bow? He noticed the string was slacked and twisted on the top cam… After closer inspection the top cam mod screw sheered off causing loosening twisting of both mods binding on the top and bottom limbs…. 🤫🤔my buddy never once dry fired the bow and was using correct spined 340 arrow arrow @ 70 lbs 420 grains🤷♂️true story in 6/12/24

over 2 grand for a warmer hand lol cause the carbon weighs as much as the others screw that they can keep it the alpha seems sweet I will wait for Mathews to drop before I go to the shop thx for the video on there web page it shows 2049 for the carbon and 1349 and 1449 for the alpha

It would be cool if you added one other test for the guys like shorter guys like Dan@Elkshape. 27" to 28' draw with the bow max out and twisted up above speck with a 480g arrow or whatever weight is common for hunting... Or just make Dan be your shorter draw height poundage monkey tester lol. Looks to be solid bows this year from Hoyt.

So is the carbon RX8 going to be $3,000 this year? And the aluminum one has to be at least 1500. These bow companies need to get their prices in check. We all know archery equipment does not hold value like a gun does. And all they do is minimal changes every year. Driving me nuts! Anybody else sick of the prices?
@live4bass8689 ай бұрын
It's because the carbon is warmer and therefore you feel more comfortable, just a little bit more relaxed.
@chesterphillips98815 ай бұрын
when you review any bow it should be done with a sight on it to check for sight picture interference and fit.
@nicolaswhult9 ай бұрын
I've felt the same thing with the carbon/aluminum. I think it's the difference in brace heights. Last year there was a slight difference in lengths. I wonder if that's a contributing factor.

Does the aluminum bow offer flex where the carbon doesn’t? I’ve felt that before, and went the the rx7. Seems like there’s some “power loss” on the draw for aluminum flexing more and the carbon transferring everything without flexing.

Great video. Can we get Lift 29 vs RX8 30 at 80lb? Cannot find any videos with 80lb speed tests! Crazy! All KZfaq videos make them head to head with 70lb and no 80lb review. I think more people are looking to use 80 than reviewers realize.

Would it make sense to check poundage before physical bow measurements? Ignorant question, maybe, but I didn't known if ATA, brace height, etc could change with the limb bolt settings.
@DK_198323 күн бұрын
Hmmm are you always shooting the carbon one first and then the aluminium one if you look back? Maybe its just that lol.. Like first bow you had 100% energy, but then after few shots you go down to 90% energy and now you change bow and draw that and it feels like its harder maybe. Otherwise the logical answer would be that the carbon one maybe is so soft it actually contracts (tiny bit, bringing the limbs closer together) when you pull it making it weaker poundage just in that moment until its drawn, then the let off takes over and lessens the strain on the riser again bringing it back to "normal". And the aluminium one is then harder and wont contract as much, or even, and all the way through the pull its staying the same poundage. But I never had a carbon bow. So I dont know how stiff/solid they actually are. Im about to maybe get one.. between either alpha x33 rx8 or rx7 atm (so thx for these videos, they are great, im studying em rly close). Back to point. But I would acuse the energy level first if you are shooting the carbon bow first always. But if its something physical then that is the only place there can be a difference (for something that drastic feeling). Bc it cant be the limbs... Cant be fittings/cams (as you said, they are the same). So it has to be in the riser/design/something if the phenomena is legit. And we already know there is a difference in the materials. So is the "logic" place. Just my thoughts tho.
