This is probably my best league starter build for PoE 3.22 Ancestor League. In today's league start build guide, I'll be sharing my Poison Blade Vortex Pathfinder league starter for Path of Exile 3.22! Thanks Lolcohol! Great guide! I've played poison bv many times in the past and I was planning on playing poison bv occultist this league actually. I wasn't planning on league starting it but this guide has caused me to reconsider! I usually play profane bloom + obliteration with asenath's and it's the most fun mapping ever! One tap of bv blows up the entire screen! But it's as you say, it's a good idea to wait on the asenath's until you start focusing on mapping only. Great job with this!

Good stuff Lolcohol, had my mind set on BV PF starter for a while now after watching Fizecs vid from 3.21 and now got a very good outline of things to look for. The temp chains nerf was always going to happen, glad PF wither effect was untouched too. Edit: Not used the focus ailment duration mod since Temp Chains became so good, might find space for it now to get a lil bit of the power back but realy not worried about it without.

Great video and guide all together. As I have played Poison BV many times in the past, I will try to give a heads up with some info on things why I dislike this build 1) its good at certain things in the game but not great at many others. Things its not great at, anything against timers, it will never full unlock a legion, it has a very difficult time against blights, unless you are good at building towers and depend on them only, breach is ok, but you usually wont have time to kill all monsters etc. Its good at most other content, deli, ritual, expedition, etc. 2) the clear speed isnt the greatest and things to not die right away, and a lot of times you'll hear a drop behind you and have to back track 3) as its tanky enough to do bossing, it is extremely slow at killing them, and you have to be somewhat close to the enemies to keep stacking the poisons, so keep in mind as youll have flask uptime and feel tanky for the most part, youll never kill ubers "quick" and they always take much longer than most other non poison builds its a very good league starter, just dont go a sink all your currency into it, as it has a hard dps cap that can be hit quite easily and youll want to save your currency for your second build to actually start hitting some high dps numbers treat this like a league starter and nothing more

Great comment! However I strongly disagree with the last point: you absolutely can turn this into a beast that does a ton of damage, even against ubers! Maybe I must release a separate guide showing that version off to show how crazy it can get

Ok recap: I also leaguestarted with this build and holy is this smooth. I still have some equipment with ilvl 40 but im blasting t16 with high frequency. This build and this guide is amazing. Even on a 4l or 5l setup you can pop entire screens and there's so much room for improvement. Love it, great work. There are not many builds which can do this on a 30c budget. (Bought 2 rings, 1 c each, 4l chest 15 c, wand 3c, rest eq 5c and used some lesser eater orbs for imlicits (some bought, some found).

I think I’m going to try this. Been back and forth on what to league start. I’m on ps5 so league starts this upcoming Friday. Was going to impending doom pathfinder but there’s a bug making it do under half the damage it should with vixens. So think I’ll run this and if I want to switch to ID when it gets fixed I can. Awesome guide my man looks amazing might practice it over this week

Note, for more consistent mapping, you can use divergent herald of agony. Obli explosion will move from 60% to 80%, and if you manage to slot in an enhance, you can guarantee the explosion to poison. I'm always a bit sad when I see poison builds with explosions at 60% poison chance :(

I must admit, I didn't even think about the explosion poison chance! Thanks for the heads up. I think we're using Divergent HoAg in the Extreme Endgame version (because it's usually a few Divines), but I'll add it if it isn't there. That being said, that version does so much damage that it's probably overkill :D

You can also replace mings with a HoA effect ring instead which also boosts the poison chance part of it.

Great guide will for sure consider it as a league starter, the details and time put in is incredible! However a note on Withering Step, according to the wiki, casting an ability cancels the elusive and phasing, but the effect of applying withered does not end. I think it is worth clarifying it in the spreadsheet and future videos if you do another one. Could also be the wiki is wrong of course, but I felt I wanted to mention it. Would love to hear if I'm wrong or misunderstood, because for me it wasn't that clear.

Think you read the wiki wrong. The withered debuff on enemies doesn't go away due to casting. That doesn't mean you still are applying withered.

Brilliant guide by the way, over and above what everyone else is putting out, thank you, if you could add a section on how to craft specific items for yourself it would be amazing, sometimes you can't get the items on trade at all and it would be great to be able to attempt to craft them but if you are like me have no clue where to start but would love to learn and attempt it even if it costs a lot.

I wanted to try a Molten Strike Poison Pathfinder this league, but I was looking for a better league starter to begin with (league start in MS is ... complicated). Do you think than I can start with your BV and switch MS later ? (Or I should not and continue on the BV :p ?) About Molten Strike Poison, do you think it's still strong with the vengeant cascade nerf ? Anyway, I've to test this BV ! Thank's again and great job for the quality.

Thanks! I'd need to check out an existing version of MS to see how it'd perform. My guess is it might be a bit harder to make feel good initially but maybe test it on a Standard character without VC to see how it feels?

Map mods: chance to avoid poison is a big no, then things like increased chaos res and maybe even reduced Flask charges gained are also annoying Expedition: chaos immunity! That will brick it

I haven't tested them in those specific mechanics but imagine it'd perform perfectly well in each of them :) If you have a very specific piece of content you're planning to run a lot of, I'd try find a very specific build that excels at that exact content. If you're looking to be able to do whatever, primarily map-based strategies, this build should be pretty good for most of them

Now this is a serious contender for my league starter. For my early atlas I am going to focus on blight, betrayal and heist. Esp. blight with the new node Cassia's Pride. From heist I am going to bring in Huck with a haste aura. And from blight the oil extractions from items. Betrayal until I have the unveils. Does this build synergize with my plans? Is there a better build in your repertoire for my strategy?

What's the thinking on the new Sacrifice support? First glance at the support makes it seem like a perfect fit. I think it'd require dropping Nature's Boon and grabbing Master Surgeon instead though. Then maybe worth looking at adding Petrified blood at that point to get a lot of extra damage and survivability. I know we gotta see the numbers on Sacrifice, but first glance seems like the % life lost is gained as chaos should be extra potent for this. Especially if you're going to do %chaos leeched as life on your gloves.

(40%-> 25%) slower debuff expiration means 12% less duration of debuffs, i wouldnt call that a slight nerf, but very cool video

Love the build. But I think I will take the Life flask node instead of the flask effect node and put in Petrified blood to (almost) never die.

So I tested this out SSF and I have to say that the leveling is pretty good. Where it shines though is when you get your third ascendancy I'd say, it was my first experience with what I'd think, "This must be a small bit what playing with Mageblood feels like!". It's extremely fun once you get to the the 6-link stage and I'm especially impressed with how it just rips apart supped up Essence mobs and bosses! Awesome and really fun build! I can't wait to get it going for the next league.😁

I tested it too up until act 6 and the bv transition wasn't great at all. Had 100% poison chance and the pob passive tree but the damage was really bad. Any tips on what to do so that the transition is less painful?

@@dovahkiin7987 it's definitely "less" than concoction, but it ramps up pretty fast as long as you had been leveling the gems and have a four link. Is that what you did?

@@daethbane yep, had a lv9 (req 41) gem at lv43 with a 4 link like in the pob. The difference was huge like 5-10 times worse that pconc. Idk what I did wrong.

Good luck! Definitely go with the defensive version and take it slow up until maps! Maybe stick with PConc until maps? I assume if you're playing HC you know what you're doing and will be able to make adjustments to make sure you don't die! As for the tree - I'm planning on doing early juicing with Domination, Beyond, Deli and Tormented Spirits, but I wouldn't do that for HC! :D

Hah good. I didn't actually use that shield except for on a test version. I might prefer a second dagger over it but if you want to try make it, it won't be toooo hard

I actually like the life regen and I don't think I can live without shield charge :) so far my best bet is to spam contempt until tier X life regen, anul a suffix and horticraft to replace the essence mod with the +1 all phys and finish with 3 craft mods... the more expensive would be to for and early aisling to get the 10% curse effect but I the cost sky rockets

:D All builds are great with Mageblood but part of the reason you go Pathfinder is that you have a baby Mageblood as part of your Ascendancy, so it's a bit overkill with Pathfinder

This is my main build, first build i did when i started the game in metamorph and cleared everything, i doubt we will reach lvl of dps it were sadge , but you're no making the items more expensive right ??

Is console play really that different from PC how do you have the mana for all that I have herald of agony and grace ticked and that's it leaving me a tiny little sliver to cast blade vortex but you casting curses all this other stuff how

Sacrifice support numbers are out. Looks like it would be huge damage, but would maybe require taking Master Surgeon.

Fairly SSF viable. I played it til yellow maps a couple of times without Dendrobate or Obliteration and it felt fine, and neither of those are too rare (you can probably find them in Heist or Blighted maps fairly easily)!

@@Lolcohol Yeah I've been swimming in both uniques when playing SSF in the past so shouldn't be *that* horrible, glad to hear you made it to yellow maps. Been looking for something that can take me from league start to uber bosses without making alts and this looks very promising.
