Which challenges should you skip if your goal is 35 or 38 challenges? What's a Magistrate-Haunted monster and where do you find them? What's the Uber Cortex wormhole slam?
Hopefully this guide helps you get any of the challenges you can't beat out of the way.
The hardest combat encounters in any of these are The Feared at 70%, the T17 map boss conditional kills and the Uber Boss conditional kills.
The worst grinds are Masterful Monsters, and the 10000 map tiers.
Worst RNG challenge is Arimor's Apex, although this video will discuss the pain points there.

You can cheese Arimor's Apex, Volcano maps have Rakangos and each appendage counts as a kill, so get to 80%+ qual on a T16 map, put the Rakango on Magistrate and don't kill the Rakango only the appendages, you only need one map to fill 100/100 Arimor's Apex.

For the vendor recipe resulting in an influenced item, it's easier (esp. in SSF) to use the "weapon + whetstone + rustic" recipe. Weapons are much more common than jewelry. Spires from abyssal embers don't count for cross-contamination (I've tried). They've added a note to the abyss challenge's description to make it clear only "natural" spires count, and it makes sense this one would work the same.

9:30 Hello sirgog, I've got some SSF tech for you: if you run white tier beachheads, only the sword and the belt drop. This makes the challenge MUCH less painful than if you try doing it in higher tier beachheads.

Would really love to see a video ranking or discussing some of the best t17 builds this league. Have two builds I really like and are fun but they aren't tanky enough for t17 building up currency for a new character to build specifically for t17 stuff and would love to hear some of the better options

I got Arimor’s Apex done pretty quick. For reference I’m SSF, 33/40, and I got Apex done at # 29. The key is to make sure the Magistrate mod is attached to the high pack sizes, and using an Allflame with a guaranteed pack leader, since the ghost node gives pack leaders +50% to be rare. Then spec Ritual / Strongbox / Shrine, basically anything that can duplicate monsters on your map.

6:22 micro-nitpicking, but technically you can sell any gem with a Trigger tag for Instilling/Enkindling orbs, not just supports. I usually use Reckoning, which only costs a wisdom scroll to buy from Lily.

I found that comprehensive scouting reports gave beachheads quite a good % of the time. That's how I assembled the harby unique in SSF.

Arimor's Apex is actually really easy if you go with a back to basics setup, you can use scarabs that just add more rares and you hit the 80% quant easily enough. So long as your build has some power it shouldn't be a problem at all, and with how cheap HH is this league getting the power by stealing mods from rares is a completely valid strategy.

I completed Raptorous Rituals using Arena map with Area contains two Unique Bosses, I noticed that it was really rare for the ritual to spawn in the boss arena in Glacier but fairly common in Arena

For the ssf harbinger challenge, you should use harbinger orbs on white map to get white beachheads, so only belt and sword pieces drop. Since the belt only has 2 pieces and the sword 3, you should expect to get it done in around 7 to 8 maps (around 35-40 harbinger orb,+15 to get the red beachheads)

For the Essence one that requires you to kill an essenced boss, you can use Bog Map and enter the arena early. Deal enough damage to put the boss in culling range, then log out. This way you enter the map again and then do the rest of it and kill the essences. Once done, go back to the boss and cull it. It requires just one green gem socket on a 2L.

The path of least resistance for Heralding Harbingers in SSF is comprehensive scouting reports, which you want to farm anyways because of Doryani's Machinarium. That's how I got it, though it was still annoying.

I think one thing to keep in mind is this is the easiest/quickest league ever to (edit: solo)-grind to level 100 Domination Scarab of Teachings + a shrine/breach spec'd atlas pretty easily can net you 150-200million XP per hour on a Dunes map (which is

@@sirgog I meant to specify solo-grind - but yea -- I think the scarab is at 5-6c atm. That being said, with a scarab farming setup, I easily self-farmed enough scarabs to cover my needs twice over

The scarab is cheap, and throw in some omens to prevent xp loss if you die. If you end up not consuming them, you can just sell them afterwards. The xp allflames are also an option for those with the currency for it, or have unused laying in the stash

I didn't see a comment about it, but for Enigmatic Embers you mention boss rushing scoured tier 14, 15 and 16 maps, but the challenge states the maps must be rare.

Hey, but Abnormal Adversaries is easy. You need pack with “Rakango” as a leader. It is that monster from Kaoms Dream that spawns tentacles. You’ll have to find Kaom’s Chosen/Fury Hound and they are more common on Volcano map. Then you assigne rhe right tier and just watch - each despawn/kill of tentacle counts as monster kill towards challenge.

Masterful Monsters is one of the worst challenges I can remember (I gave up at 20 bosses and just did something else), and there were a few others this league I generally just found really tedious. Probably the hardest part with reaching 38/40 was that I just didn't really enjoy doing maps this league, so I limped over the finish line and quit the league moderately early.

Yeah I didn't like last league so I didn't force 38 challenges or 40. Take a breather if you need one. Masterful has existed before but usually as part of EGG/GGG.

its not so hard. Just put beasts to your maps with scarabs and you will have quite a lot beast bosses in not so long time. And killing beast bosses is quite fast.

If you're in trade, for map magnificence, vault of atziri, buy in bulk t16, walk in click chest, leave. Repeat until your eyes bleed. I'd recommend a good movie to put on.

When I buckled down it only took me a few days to finish the 40, very simple solo grind for bosser builds (completed with SS trickster)

I’m not sure how available they are in SSF, but the incursion timeline scarabs can help generate omnitects at a much quicker rate. It’s not quite a temple per map. Maybe 3 out of 4.

For the ritual one you dont need vessels, just roll a magic map to twinned bosses on a 3map boss, and rush the boss

Note for cross contamination: Can't you force a beast to hold an essence with calcification? I assume that works, and would reduce the effort to a single map.

For masterful monsters I'd say the easiest is to just run some juiced bestiary for a little while, and spam bestiary bosses. I didn't even run it that long, maybe 30 maps max and did like 30 bosses just from that.

For masterful monsters, the boring but easiest way I found was to buy bestiary bosses. I was able to buy them in bulk in 2 total transactions. And the resulting beasts do sell (especially farrul) to the point I actually made money.

I don´t know how ritual works, I thought I had to capture plenty of bosses in blood-filled vessel and then place them on a single map. But running glacier just once let me complete the objective. Thanks.

yeah "complete a ritual" just means "endure the entire encounter" and that encounter has 9 uniques, if it is the last room.

Arimor is hard? I did it before my 20 challenges for sure in ssf. Maybe you didn't pick league nodes? Also I didn't pick the random one, because you can't get +1 on VI this way, it's rng. So ofc it will take longer this way. 3 challenges I haven't done yet are memory one when you do 150 memory shit, uber bosses and t17 maps.

Even fully specced for the mechanic (Imperial Wraiths on, keystone off, always swapping into T7s when able) you'd get at least a hundred T17 map drops by the time you've done Apex.

Yeah if you can get 50 at once. My experience with bulk beast trades is that they are TFT only, as GGG don't ban the huge numbers of people that list 100 beasts at prices they have no intent to sell at

Dont want to be this guy but i highly doubt that amount of people who complete all 40 challenges will be even 50% of afflictiong league. 2 reasons : 1. Cosmetic reward for necropolis league challenges look awful. 2. Necropolis online already 2 times less than in affliction.

It's noticable that the playerbase does not seem to like ultra-deterministic accessible crafting. Necropolis is Harvest but with less RNG, and yet the much more RNG Recombinator mechanics were more popular. Curious what they learn from this. I think POE2 will remove deterministic crafting options after the 3.24 reaction.

@@sirgog i dont agree, people like determenistic crafting very much, reworked harvest in ritual league was awesome. What people dont like in necropolise determenistic crafting is part when you need to intercat with trade website, and do it 60 times just for one craft with average chance to succes ~ 30-50 %, which means approximatley 120 trades for 1 item. They did add bulk trade but it was too late, half of playerbase already gone after second week.

I do agree the problem is not crafting, but trading. Think of full graveyard crafts: 88 individual trades is impossible to endure, but even with bulk trading, that just brings it down to about 15 individual trades... which is still painfully hard to conduct. The lesson shouldn't be crafting bad, but trading beyond vomit-inducingly horrible.

@@sirgog SSF player here. I actually enjoy the right amount of determinism: when we could rerol prefixes and suffixes separetely using eldritch chaos orbs and maintain the same number of affixes and reroll prefix/suffix on harvest. That was the right amount. Having to farm hundreds of maps to have a chance to get just the right corpses and then spend so much time planning the whole graveyard is not fun.

I actually prefer deterministic crafting. I jist don't like having to use spreadsheets and hours of time getting there. Graveyard crafting has exceeded my tedium threshold. 😅
