Not really. You can check the video description; I've made some changes. This build is still very tanky.

The shield bonus applies to minions instead (Necromantic aegis keystone - 10:38) + the raging spirit of enormity always crit

Thank you for pointing it out. This change is not a big deal; you can use a magic Basalt Flask with increased all elemental resistance modifier instead. The defense is not affected much, and this build remains very tanky.

It would depend on the content you are doing and what items you have. For example, if you don't have a level 5 Awakened Cast While Channeling, you will need Brine King. For general mapping, I would use Soul of Shakari, but when fighting Sirus, I would use Soul of Ralakesh.

It is quite hard for Necro to get access to Elemental Equilibrium; you'll need to craft on a Stabilising Spectre. Additionally, to get permanent flasks on Necro, you'll need a flask medium cluster jewel or a Mageblood. The big offensive mechanic of this build is to reduce enemies' fire resistance as much as possible, and Ascendant is simply easier and better for this. When I started this build, I used Unleash, but the casting time was too long for me. And unless you stand still casting SRS, the Cyclone CwC setup will provide more damage, especially in Uber boss fights where you need to move a lot.

@@GreatTeacher-Windy ty for your reply. I will for sure go Mageblood endgame. I noticed that your dmg comes mostly from -% fire res, and losing EE and -20% exposure from elementalist ascendancy will be a big downside for Necro. But I think extra life,chill, shock and more aoe from Necro will compensate. I will give a try with Necro and maybe go Cyclone so I can still have EE with a Stabilising scepter. Mageblood solves flask management, and I only lose exposure from Elementalist.

You could try Perfect Guardian Turtle. The Turtle's aura is less powerful than our Determination, but you can switch Determination to Haste, Flesh and Stone, or Grace

I don't recommend starting a league with a Scion if you are not experienced. Leveling a Scion is also a bit slower than other ascendancies. However, if you don't care about leveling speed, you can definitely start with it. Begin by using steel skills, and prioritize reaching Minion Instability on your passive tree asap. Then, use self-cast SRS linked with Minion Life and Infernal Legion. Simulacrum is a piece of cake for this build; I've finished 30 waves deathless many times. I only die occasionally when the modifiers are too deadly, like chaos penetration combined with removing flask charges on hit.

At first glance, the mod "Nearby Enemies have 50% increased Fire and Cold Resistances" may sound unhelpful; however, it also multiplies negative resistances. For example, if you reduce an enemy's resistance to -50% (through curses, exposure, etc.), Eye of Malice will make their resistance become -50% * 1.5 = -75%.

Your minions might be dying because they deal a critical strike while fighting a pack of monsters. What spectres are you using? For this build, you should use slow-hitting or single-target spectres. Last league, I used Spectral Leader and Syndicate Silencer, and they rarely died. Another option is to link your spectres with Controlled Destruction support.

@@engineer6313 Yes, that counts as 4 critical strikes. You can observe this effect on your SRS when using Melee Splash support.

@@engineer6313 Arena Master is not very effective for this build. Its buff is not an aura and has a cooldown, so newly summoned SRS won’t benefit from it.

I'm pretty sure it works given the damage this build has. Try unequipping it, and you'll see a big difference. I also got this from Reddit: "I just tested with level 1 SRS of Enormity, so I can guarantee an explosion + ignite. I got my SRS to exactly 75% res without auras and tested the damage against Act 3 Gravicius, who is a great target because you can let his ES recharge. I used Tavukai, and my minions exploded pretty much instantly as Gravicius hit them. The MI explosion + ignite did considerably and consistently more damage with Purity of Elements + Purity of Fire up. It seems that auras do in fact give the minions more life, despite the tooltip not changing."

I’ve tested it again, and this build still melts bosses and is incredibly tanky (I'm pretty sure it can tank Shaper slam, Maven beam, and Sirus meteor without Progenesis), even without any ES sustain. And this was with my last league's gear. This league, the build should be even tankier with the new spectre and T1 life modifiers on rings, gloves, and boots. So, I’m certain you did something wrong with your build. Please share your Pob

Anyway, solved the survivability and damage but spectres and stone golem are nuking themsleves from crits I guess. Tried perfect warlord and a few corpse spectres and they die basically instantly. Any way to solve this ?

There’s no way to make spectres completely never deal a critical hit like Animated Guardian, so you'll need to use ones with slow attacks or those that only hit a single target at a time. Last league, I used Spectral Leader and Syndicate Silencer Spectre, and they almost never died. I haven't played this build this league, but I recommend using Spectral Leader and Perfect Guardian Turtle. The Turtle's aura is less powerful than our Determination, but you can switch Determination to Haste, Flesh and Stone, Grace, or even Discipline if you find yourself struggling to sustain Energy Shield. To compensate for the loss of armor, you can incorporate a Basalt Flask into the build.

If you still want to use the other new spectres, link them with Controlled Destruction Support. Most of these spectres have a base 5% crit chance, so with this support gem linked, they'll only have a 1% chance to crit. But this means no meat shield or minion life though

Still using SRS in T16 maps. I want to convert to your build (with a low budget, if possible),

​@@engineer6313 The first thing you need is Qotra's Regulator (only a few chaos) and Darkseer (just grab the cheapest one, about 1 divine). After that, you can switch to a Cyclone Cast While Channeling setup. The SRS of Enormity is also very cheap. Next, focus on your defensive layer. You'll need the Fourth Vow and Divine Flesh combo. This league, a 6-link Fourth Vow is not as cheap as in 3.24 because it's not easy to get Black Morrigan anymore.

@@GreatTeacher-Windy I am following the leveling guide. Currently at 65. I got the sceptre, shield and SRS of Enormity and switched to a CWC setup with Tabula. Feels a bit cluncky but I got a lot of way to go. My question is... Do I need to let the RS do it's thing and die so it explodes before a new one is summoned OR when another one is summoned through CWC the previous one explodes anyway?

Can you give me your PoB? I'll see what the problem is. My SRS can attack 4 times per second, so they get themselves killed in about 1 second.

This build uses the Eldritch Battery keystone, which allows you to pay mana costs by spending energy shield. So, I cast skills using ES instead of mana. You can also get this keystone by using the flask Sorrow of the Divine.

@@laurencethibault4151 This league, I am playing a different variant of SRS (still fine-tuning the build). I recommend the Perfect Forest Tiger (Haste aura) and the Perfect Warlord, they are quite expensive though

For sure, but I don't have any ideas for it yet. Melee has been in a poor state for so long. The last time I played a melee build was in the Sanctum league, but it was a General's Cry build, lol.

@@tangwh2011 Scion gets easier access to Elemental Equilibrium and Spell Suppression. She also provides permanent flasks, an extra -20% to elemental resistance, 10% guaranteed shock, and an extra golem. Overall, Scion will be easier to build around for this build.

This build is definitely a better boss killer than my HRoC build because it gets access to Molten Shell, the best guard skill in the game. With Molten Shell active, you can tank one-shots and dangerous phases (such as Shaper's bullet hell, Exarch's balls, and Eater's beam) from bosses. In terms of mapping and other content, these builds are pretty similar. However, this build requires some gem swaps (like Melee Splash and Ignite Proliferation) to achieve this level of clear speed.
