For a rock band lyrics do matter.These guys are actually 'poets'.

Marko has probably the cleanest voice in the WORLD. Its just unreal!

Im so addicted to this band! My husband introduced me to them over ten years ago. The song War is our song. We're from Michigan so there are some US fans out there. Trust me. We're out there. Their sound is very poetic and romantic. Absolutely love it! ❤❤❤

A complete injustice to the world of music is that this band has not received the honors and recognition they so truly deserve. They are literally amazing and legendary. Can listen to their songs all day

This band certainly doesnt constantly sound the same on every song they sing. Lead singer has one hell of a voice!

Спустя несколько лет я и поиграла в Алана Вейка и мне саундтрек показался со знакомым голосом, но я не обратила внимания. И вот сейчас, играя в долгожданную вторую часть Алана узнала, что там поют Поэты. Шоком было узнать, что разраб игры и солист друзья, так ещё и финны. Обощаю их культуру! Песня огонь, группа огонь!

One of the best bands ever coming from Finland and i'm a proud Finnish! :) Marko has amazing voice! Poets pretty much perfected the "atmospheric" rock.

My favourite song of not only Poets' but of all time. I met the band last month in Glasgow and asked Marko to write the chorus for me on my Signs of Life CD booklet. Like the gentleman he is, he did it. :)

An old roommate of mine, from my time with the Marine Corps, introduced me to this band. There's some real, visceral, emotional memories tied to some of their music. Hits me like a truck even 11 years later.

14 years later this song is still so amazing. PotF has done some amazing music, I own every album and will continue to buy them all.

What an incredible piece of artistic work, I´ve never commented on a song before but this was too good not to. At first I listened to it and thought "I just really like the sound of it and the feeling of rising above difficulties that seems to come out of the chorus". Then as i watched the video a couple of times all sorts of symbolism began to break through. So here´s my take on it and what it means (to me at least); the prison is our society and all the constraints, restrictions and regulations that it imposes upon us. The parole board and guards may be people around us who expect us to conform to the constraints and regulations or to fit into a mold, this is obviously different for everyone but examples might be; an employer, parents, spouse, our children, or even a government/social system etc etc. The moth represents freedom, creativity, following a dream. The room full of moths represents most peoples dreams, pinned down and forgotten. His moth flies freely even though his body may be incarcerated, I think this is especially beautiful because even though most of us may be caught up in a "normal" life and have to pay bills, work etc etc it doesn´t stop us from dreaming and and being creative, we just have to find what it is in this world that gives us that lift! The mundane is described as " move in circles day to day, twist the drama of the play to get us by", a constant repetition. I believe that that the woman (whose picture was used as an article of evidence ) was the one who gave the author his lift and what he needed to rise above the mundane. For each person it may be different but it´s unimportant what it is, just as long as it IS there, it could be travel, a love,or whatever, but we all need to find our own "lift" and never let the mundane or expectations placed upon us by others hold us back from being happy and living to our full potential . Whatever it is that will " lift my spirit take me higher make me fly touch the moon up in the sky when you are mine" then it is that which we must pursue with all our heart and mind. The most profound moment in the video of course is when freedom and creativity and the following of our dreams are deemed to be a "menace to society" as adjudged by the parole board :) Perhaps the woman and guard losing their temper is how people around us react when we tell them "actually I am not going to be what you want me to be, instead I have dreams of my own that I´m going to follow". This is my interpretation and what it means to me, feel free to differ. I´m sure I´ve missed lots of other symbolism but that´s what the song spoke to me.

Actually I don't know this band. But when I met my Rock and asked me what's my favorite band. I answered him I liked country songs. Then he told me that his favorite band is Poets of the fall. And he sent me their songs. Oooooh my God where that voice came from. So angelic voice. I love it. Cradel for love. Oooooh mine. My song for my Rock. I love you more my Rock ♥️♥️♥️

How could you explain Marko's voice to someone who doesnt know about this band ? Would you say he has a soft voice ? Or would you say he has a robust voice ? Or perhaps you may prefer saying he has a powerful voice or maybe you might wanna say he is melodious.....i couldnt explain his voice with just 1 word...astonishingly he belongs to ALL above mentioned categories !!!

They sure did lift me higher and made me touch the moon first time saw them live.

A friend of mine from Finland introduced me to this band and I never looked back..I am from Botswana and we met when she visited my country. When ever i miss her Poets of The Fall helps me fill up the void.

Been a POTF fan since their beginning! Seen them live about 10 times, awesome live band too!

This strangely has to be one of the most positive songs I have ever had the pleasure of hearing! It just makes me feel so happy. It's a song that I can easily lose myself in for hours at a time.

IMAGINATION That's the word that best defines Poets of the Fall. Creativity and passion. They are unique, they are magical. Fantasy crackles with every musical note. They are not just musicians. They make art and poetry. And Marko, your wonderful voice, your fucking body, your amazing talent… you're the essence of each verse. For me Poets of the Fall is the best ღ

I don't know why but this song reminds me of my highschool years so much. The times when I was together with my friends having fun and not giving a sh about the problems of life. Now as grown ups, we don't talk anymore because of work, everybody is tired, nobody enjoys life anymore. Life has become work and home everyday. Nobody wants to hang out with me anymore, I'm too depressed. I tried su1cide twice yesterday. But music is one of the only things that makes me feel alive and keeps me alive. And this song is just so magical, so special to me. I'm glad I found this song again before it was too late.

In US this band would had been a huge success if been american, but they today have fans all over the world. One of the best bands ever from Finland.

I live in America and just discover this band and have bought every album I could find. Marko has such an amazing voice with such a range I have rarely ever heard and Ollie’s bas playing is also amazing they don’t have one bad song and the lyrics oh my gosh. I’m straight obsessed

That was really beautiful and disturbing. This music, and these lyrics, and those videos - all of these create an atmosphere of a dream. Of a beatiful colourful nightmare, which looks like a fairy-tale till the very last moment, when it's already too late to run. Actually, I don't even want to. It's so hypnotizing.

While everyone’s enjoying marko’s vocals I couldn’t get more excited watching his video. Hats off to the film makers for creating such creative visuals.

Только я не пойму одного: почему поклонников их творчества так заботит, что коллектив "недооценен" и не набирает over 9000 просмотров в секунду? Мне, например, это только импонирует - я слушаю потрясающую музыку от талантливых исполнителей, которая при этом не играет из каждого утюга. Музыканты получают своё за их труд, никто из них не бедствует, их музыка при этом остаётся качественной и не заезженной! Так зачем мне беспокоиться о просмотрах?.. Amazing band! Attended their concert in 2013 and I still impressed. A lot of lovely memories... But say me: why do you worry about their "underration" and less-then-100 mil views? Their music is great because it`s not so popular and it doesn`t play from every corner. Guys get their own money and they are pretty rich i think. Meanwhile their music remains clean and high-quality. So why should I worry about views?..

Two good things came of buying Alan Wake. Number 1, the game was epic, and I'm ready for a legit sequel. Number 2, I was introduced to an amazing band that's captivated me with every song. Excellent work, Poets! (I'd much rather study this kind of poet in Lit class lol)

This is some of the most amazing music I have ever listened to. I have listened to a lot of their songs that are on youtube and I love every one of them. It is hard for me to find a band that I can enjoy every song. Definitely fast becoming my favorite by far!!!
