My sons and I got into the TCG back in the spring of 1999. Back then none of us wanted to receive in trade cards with the “Deck A” stamp because we didn’t fully appreciate the significance of how deez cards would become. 😢

I used to devalue promos and not consider them “good” when I was a little kid. I thought that since they were “free” they weren’t rare

Such a fascinating topic! Thoroughly enjoyed the video! When I was a kid when the TCG was just getting popular, me and my mom would play in Pokemon league in Wizards of the Coast in the same town where the pokemon company would later set up their international headquarters, but unfortunately I never got my hands on any of the cool cards you showed in your video!
@sleevenocardbehindАй бұрын
That’s so cool! Did you at least snag some black star promos from the leagues?
@plattyppusАй бұрын
@@sleevenocardbehind oh absolutely! You previous videos on black star promos sure were a walk through memory lane :)

I wonder if the Prerelease Raichu and the German Base Set Growlithe with a MTG back would fit into this category as well
@sleevenocardbehindАй бұрын
Yes! I considered these but I didn’t want the video to be too long. The prerelease Raichu alone would’ve added 5 minutes lol

Great video as usual! Question though: what do you think about CGC’s authentication standards? It’s odd to me that they’re so quick to authenticate these prototype cards when others won’t…
@sleevenocardbehindАй бұрын
I’m in full support of CGC being the company that authenticates this kind of thing. They usually publish a blog post on their process for super unique cards such as the Protosoise, which goes pretty deep into the tools and techniques they use.
@tcgbuyersclubАй бұрын
@@sleevenocardbehind That’s good to know! I’ll have to take a look into their process and what they’ve shared in the past 😊

The cosmos foil Zapdos test print is different from the tempest cosmos foil because it has a 1999 copyright date not a 1999-2000 copyright date

Thanks for clarifying this

I love your videos. I am looking for a Cosmos Fossil Lapras for years now. Last card of my collection that is still missing and I will probably never see it. :( Keep up the great content.
