I like how they added something to make some of the cries a little more resembling to the creature it represents Like Meowth and Golduck or Raichu getting some electric noise

It's kinda funny how the starters just got progressively more low pitched

I love how it falls into a rhythm of the Gen 8 cries basically sounding like echoes of the Gen 1 cries, and then along comes Pikachu at 0:55

i really appreciate the little fire, water, electric and rock sounds you can hear in the background of some cries, it’s a nice touch

I always loved that electronic buzz noise at the end of half of the gen 1 cries, it's so cool sounding and otherworldly

I'm glad they changed Charizard's cry. Now it sounds amazing and not like a Rhyhorn

When I first heard the updated cries in X and Y, I was reminded of Pokemon Stadium and how it did something similar. I appreciate how they made some of the more similar-sounding cries more distinct, like Vileplume and Aerodactyl.

Oh wonder I can’t tell the Pokémon by their cry’s as well as I used to. For years I knew all the first 4 gen Pokémon by their cry’s but now I can’t do it as well. Some of them changed a lot.

I sat here and watched the whole thing like a chat I may have lost my hearing, but I still feel accomplished...in some way or another

Isn’t Eevee’s cry “Eva” in SwSh? I’m pretty sure its not the electronic cry it had back in gen 1 but it works i guess lol

How did I not notice that they've changed cries until now? I've played the old games and heard the old cries, I just didn't think they were different to the originals

I love how they kept some of the 8 bit sounds in their cries, sometimes It's obvious, sometimes your need earphones, but still, i like that they kept the sounds 😊

I can't say I really like Raichu's new cry, it just sounds so weirdly different from the bold loud sound that it used to have.

One thing I appreciate they added to the cries are the elemental sound effects, like the splash sounds for the water pokemon and the static sounds for the electric pokemon

They did a really good job of remastering the cries, and adding enough to make it sound cooler

This...uses Gen 3 cries and Gen 6 cries as comparison. That would normally be fine, especially since some Kanto Pokemon don’t exist in Sword and Shield and all the cries except Eevee’s have not changed since Gen 6, but the title is misleading and causes it to be made even more inaccurate as it still uses Eevee’s old cry. The way I can tell it’s Gen 3 cries and not Gen 1 cries is the fact that they’re more upscaled due to a lack of Game Boy limitation AND that Haunter’s cry is not its original cry, as it was changed in all three generations, keeping its Gen 3 cry in Gen 4 and 5 and then given a new cry based on the Gen 1 original in Gen 6.

I like the gba sounds more, they sound a lot more clear to me

I do like how they gave the fire types and electric types fire and electric sounds respectfully.

Some sound almost exactly like the older ones while a few sound better and others... questionable.

I will always prefer the nostalgia from those old cries :')

seeing this for the first time and it's interesting to note the small changes some had where they added elements of what the pokémon is (like psyduck sounds more like quaking sound, some of the the electric pokémon has some of a electric hiss to their sounds and dugtrio has a bit of earth movement added )

So strange!!! Never realized how similar the cries of Paras/Parasect/Starmie/Mewtwo/Mew were until today!

I think it’s really cool they went out of their way to make the cries feel more unique with the added effects to some cries- cause let’s be honest, a lot of Gen 1 cries are just the same. So it’s cool to see them evolved like this.

So glad they changed Pikachu and Eevee’s voice back to their chiptune voice in Gen IX. They might be the mascots, but they shouldn’t break the continuity of the games because of it.

I actually loved the new Charizard cry because I'm just a guy who loves the sound of engines, but I will always love the classic cry of Charizard

The Updated cries for most Generation I and all Generation II Pokemon is pretty much a mashup of their original cries with their Pokemon Stadium counterparts.

The eevee's cry in actual games is as the anime. The same cry, it said it's name

Pikachu's cry was so weird. The first game it had its own cry until its cry became "Pikachu". LOL 😂.

I noticed they added flourishes that imitate the animal the pokemon is based on (quacks for Psyduck) and what type they are (swooshes for flying type). Makes them sound more like animals.

I just love how Pidgey’s cry didn’t even change.

I like how every single pokemon has a distinctive and unique cry and then Snorlax's cry sounds like on singular fucking note.

I will admit that the Gen 1 Birds kind of sound like old weapon effects and I imagine Articuno sounds like an ice laser, Zapdos sounds like a lightning beam being shot and Moltres sounds like a flamethrower

While some of the remastered ones sound better, personally I prefer the older ones. I just wish I could find remastered variants that remain faithful to the old cries

I kinda wish they remade them but with more focus on making them sound more animal like instead of on making them sound like they did on gen 1. Of course this would not apply to the ones who already sound good or matches the pokemon, like Drowzee and Hypno or Magnemite, but changing Charizard's sound to a full roar would be better.

Honesty, most of the Gen 8 cries sound bad to me. the change in pitch, added reverb, or the extra layer to the cries does good for some them, but makes the rest sound worse

Some cries sound amazing and/or more realistic (Aerodactyl sounds very intimidating, while you can hear the leaves shaking in Exeggutor's cry) but some others are major failures. I can't help but to applaud for the good ones but still appreciate the try for the bad ones.

Now Listening to these, I realized some Pokémon’s new cries sound identical to their old cries.
