It's funny how back in the '90s and early 2000s, ultra-religious types were saying Pokemon was satanic or whatever, but here was Digimon letting you raise certain cute critters to become demons, angels, & eldritch beings, as well as making references to the number of the beast in the anime. It would've been hilarious to have seen their reactions to Shin Megami Tensei. Which is suprisingly the originator of Mon collecting genre.

Well, not because it was Satanic, because there weren’t any depictions of demons or witchcraft, but because it referenced evolution, which is the predominant “how we got here” theory among atheists and other science-based belief systems that contradict Christian beliefs. Magic: The Gathering and D&D were the popular franchises that had to deal with Satanic Panic. Especially D&D.

@@pn2294 in the 90's the Digimon anime rivaled Pokemon a lot well Pokemon was always more known i guess but digimon was by all measures Popular and in the early 20's while it lost hype most people still know it as far as i know but the second one might be more of a social bubble thing

Most weapons in digimon are made by Vulcanusmon (one of the Olympos XII) who names all his creations after plants/food in spanish. Berenjena (Eggplant) for Beelzemon, Bellota (Acorn) for Ghilliedhumon, Zanahoria (Carrot) for Sparrowmon, Oro Salmón (Gold Salmon) for Astamon, Rizoma de Loto (Lotus Root) for BeelStarmon, & Pepino (Cucumber) for BeelStarmon X.

I love that not only did he make a Seven Deadly Sins reference, he used the wrong character and sin, cuz Meliodas is Wrath, and the gigachad Escanor is Pride.

The funny thing about Daemon's name is that Creepymon is only his localized name in one of the games. He's referred to as Daemon properly in his debut anime

Lilithmon was broken in Cyber Sloots. One of the biggest INT stats in the game, Strong tier pierce move (Phantom Pain) and the Ara Ara voice line she sometimes does when doing it *chefs kiss*

Damn. With showing the other forms of other Lords, I was hoping Lucemon: Satan Mode was shown. Not only cause I just think it's a great design, but just to see their reaction to it literally just being called Satan Mode. Also the little fun fact that, when Lucemon used Paradise Lost in Frontier, he literally exploded 2 moons as he pile drived one of the protagonists.

I always read Beelzemon as envy and Leviamon as gluttony so I guess I just swamped them, Beelz couldn't be pride because Lucemon is always there.

they are based off the actual demons of christian/demonology lore: Lucifer: pride. Mammon: greed. Asmodeus: lust. Leviathan: envy. Beelzebub: gluttony. Satan: wrath. Belphegor: sloth. they just swapped Lilith with asmodeus cause Lilith is satans wife

I admit gluttony can still make sense for Beelzemon since he has a hunger for power and respect in Tamers. Plus he goes crazy with absorbing data from other Digimon while he’s on his power trip. But I can still understand feeling Envy would also fit.

Robot Masters quiz would be quite fun, especially as a not-Mega Man fan being able to play along. If you wanted another Digimon quiz suggestion (and even if you don't) the "recolors" could be fun (for example, Kyle/Nico don't read: Tsukaimon, Doumon, Saberdramon, Cthyllamon, Piddomon, etc.)

Beelzemon's gun is in refrence to cutting an eggplant and it looking like the barrel of a shotgun. It's similair to the name for Beelstarmon's gun being a root.

Lucemon Fall Down Mode is pretty on the nose but it also makes sense since the Baseform is the Rookie Digimon Lucemon who is a very benevolent Digimon that has incredible power (easily taking out Mega Level Digimon by hurling planets at it). Lucemon Falldown mode is its Ultra Level that can (in most version) only be reached once Lucemons Powers get to its head and it give into its prideful side. It also has to my knowledge no Champion form and just goes from Rookie straight to Ultra Level.
