Since I've seen a lot of comments about it, as the runner I'd like to say something in regards to the audience (the part you might not know). In the video it might seem like a lot are uninterested or not paying attention. This is normal. The room you see is the only event-hall (since UKSG is a relatively small event) and as such it functions as both the stream room and the place were people chill. Most of the people joining these events (myself included) mostly attend for the people, y'know, meeting with friends and making new ones. Because of this the focus isn't as much on the runs. After all, watching runs can be done from home and you only get a couple hours together like that. Due to the limited space you see this more clearly at this event then with some others. As a runner I'm aware of this and as such it doesn't bother me. It might look weird, but I've seen this at almost all on-site events and most runners are aware of it. Having had the chance to run at UKSG has helped me make several new friends I wouldn't otherwise have and I can say that a lot of the people there were fantastic.

This is a nice speedrun. He managed to play it good while being able to narrate the whole story for us, newbies. Great work, man.

It annoys me slightly that he didn't have a proper audience, like he deserves. I loved his comments and gameplay. Cheers dude.

Great run, great runner. He's got great knowledge on the game (I like how he can name the Pokemon by the sprites alone before he even runs into them) and great commentary. I found myself a new favorite streamer to follow.

When I was young I didn't really understand the game very well, owing to the fact I could barely read English as it was. But Linked Moves were so unbelievably OP even young me figured out that the devs done goofed

God damn, this was a great speedrun and drew me in. I love this game even though I had Red Rescue Team instead. But now I remember all the monster houses, traps, and other good stuff with the post-game. .... I still need to get Kygore though. Also, I don't blame the speedrunner for the quicksave stuff, that monster house was a nightmare from hell. I would have shit my pants even as a kid if that happened to me. So good job on overcoming the aftermath. But now I need to watch some more of the runner's Pokemon runs, as I'm horribly interested now.

I loved that run. It is the kind of why I watch speedruns. It was like a really fast Lets Play.

I love these kinds of speedruns where you have to react to the RNG. Obviously it makes wr much harder, but I find it very entertaining and I believe it's why minecraft has become such a popular speed game. Of course, that's coming from a speedcuber, where every single "run" is 100% RNG.

Actually kinda interesting. Charmander+Pikachu tends to be a really strong pairing in PMD (Smokescreen, Flamethrower, Agility, and from Explorers onwards, Discharge), good at almost all parts of the game. It's just not fast from a speedrunning perspective.

I discovered this game back when I used to emulate a lot of Nintendo DS games. I can't remember who was my partner but I got a Bulbasaur as my main, who is my favorite gen 1 starter Pokemon. I never finished the game though.

First speedrun I ever bothered to watch full way through and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I really wanna see him do exploreres of time/darkness/sky

wow that sky tower floor 21(around 3 hours in), getting spawned into a monster house was *such* a dick move by the game.

I understand why you did the quicksaving at the end but the end result just honestly looks kinda boring. Interesting speedrun overall though

As someone who only ever played Explorers, I'm shocked at how everything in Rescue Team has a deam/child logic about it. Like, who writes that newspaper? Why is the story so fast-paced as to feel abbreviated? Why do rescue teams even exist? What the heck is up with Gengar at the end there? It's like the writers were intentionally going for as little worldbuilding as possible.
