I remember those theories that Pecharunt will possess Kieran but it turns out Pecharunt possesses everyone except Kieran lol

the writers really said "lets write a horror comedy for the epilogue"

I used Ogerpon for this fight, and she does a special animation where she cries in response to Pecharunt's cry in the beginning

I love how Kieran, in response to Arven and Penny just casually eating mochi that came from a random Pokémon, just goes full blank eyed and basically yells, “Are you kidding me?! DON’T EAT THOSE!” He’s the only one with any common sense in the group and he knows it.

the irony that Kieran n the end was the only member of the main squad to NOT be mind-controlled by Pecharunt at any point is not lost on me. The theories that have been happening since the beginning that he'd be controlled by Pecharunt sometime in-game were subverted in probably the most humorous and ironic way. Penny, Nemona, Arven, his sister, his grandparents, everyone in his home village EXCEPT him.

So we just gonna ignore the fact that Kieran straight up had the pokedollars to afford round trips for 4 people?

Literally, the weirdest (and kind of funniest) thing to come out of a Pokémon game. I really loved it, specially seeing the interactions between your Paldean friends and the ones from Kitakami.

Scarlet and Violet is so far the only game that made me really, really care about your friends in game, especially in this epilogue where they stepped up the interactions and dialogues. It really gives that high school/university vibe that I start to miss...

I'm just glad Kieran gets a break. Worst thing that happens to him? A piece of mochi beans him on the noggin. Hoo boy, I could not stop laughing throughout the epilogue. It was bonkers.

I loved this arc it was able to thread the needle of creepy and silly so well. Perfect way to have us catch a mythical.

I'm getting major Yo-Kai Watch vibes from this epilogue, and I mean it in a good way. I'm looking forward to using Pecharunt in battle.

Nemona being so battle crazy that she still insists on battling you and using her usual catchphrases even while POSSESSED has to be my favorite bit in the entire series. Nemona as a character is just fantastic.

Cool detail I noticed is that the game or this specific cutscene at the beginning of the game where Penny says, “Hey, a Nintendo Switch…” the Nintendo Switch has the same colored Joy-Cons as the Switch you have in Real Life. Pecharunt caused some kind of zombie invasion in Kitakami.

From what I heard that Pecharunt is still trying to get Ogerpon's masks, which are currently in the player's possession for it's caretakers, even though they no longer exist anymore. Funny that the player looks like they Matrix the Mochi while Kiki had dumb luck on resisting that Binding Mochi.

I’m surprised kieren was not even a match for Nemona, and he wasn’t a weakling towards the end of the DLC by any means, Nemona is really on a whole another level of strength and skill, in fact I could even imagine that Nemona would really give Cynthia or Red a challenging battle

I always thought of a potential love triangle with Arven, the player and Kieran. Kieran is clearly in love with the player. And Arven gets nervous asking to come over....and very jealous of Kieran....seeing him as competition (to be the players 'best friend') Even though Kieran is outright unaware of it. It just comes off to me. Arven is like thinking 'who is this Kieran guy? You have never mentioned him before. Who is he?' Especially if you chose the hesitant option. ....friend.

This was one of the oddest things they have ever done for Pokémon, but it's interesting, nonetheless. Though, I think this epilogue and the Teal Mask should have been part of the main story in the post game, instead of a DLC. I'm not a fan of the Terestalizing gimmick. The Paradox Pokémon were more interesting. They, the ruinous quartet, and the Kitikami legends would have made a better story, I think.
