I heard a fan theory a while ago that even with a Master Ball, a legendary pokemon can only be caught if it deems you worthy. We just never see any other result because protagonist equals worthy. Now we know what happens when one who is unworthy tries to just huck a Master Ball at a legendary and it turns out, they can and will say no and do so VERY violently.

Also worth mentioning that Terapagos in general seems to be EXTREMELY moody and doesn’t exactly have a soft spot for humans while having the power needed to outright refuse them at the time

And even in the cutscene when it first emerged from its crystal form it was quite jolly but Kieran pissed it off by forcefully capturing it . And that's where he lost his worthiness. Also in its Stellar State the energy outflow from Terapagos could cause his mood to change since it's literally a legendary in that state

This pokemon is an eldritch entity and I refuse to believe otherwise. Some notes -responsible for the transport of creatures from alternate realities from different points in time -has become the first pokemon in canon to break a master ball on screen -possesses unfathomable power, with a super form that changes the creature from an unassuming turtle to a being deemed as “the hidden treasure of area zero” itself. -its den is next to a gigantic crystalline tree, theorized to be a matured herba mystica -is indirectly responsible for the death of the professor, likely fueling their desires via distortion of spacetime This thing is also slumbering. It’s the Dreamer. It’s freaking Pokemon Cthulhu

Terapagos reminds me a lot of the Zohar from Xenogears mostly in the way it seemingly can warp reality to its wishes, constantly produces a seemingly infinite amount of energy (The Zohar produces Ether when a human interfaces with it to grant wishes, similarly to how Terapagos can produce power-generating Tera Crystals when living beings or machines are subject to the Terestal Phenomenon, which can distort things such as the subject’s typing or a machine’s efficiency) As a bonus, the Zohar was discovered buried deep in the earth and very few people knew of its true existence, in a vein similar to Terapagos sleeping inside a two million year-old crater. Regardless, it’s absolutely eldritch, and possibly a perpetual energy source. No damn wonder it’s considered a treasure!

I actually like to think of terapegos as a sort of angel. The fact it fucks with types and warps timelines makes me think this mon may be in some way related to arceus /the entire creation trio. Plus the fact area zero feels edenlike in nature. Then again I love the idea of this cute being being Pokemons Cthulhu

I have a theory that pokemon are able to sense a person's intentions. It didn't choose Kieran because at that moment he didn't see the pokemon as a living creature. He saw it as a tool to defeat you the player. I cackled when it walked away from him but to see the player character be mortified enhanced the story for me.

⁠@@sumohamsters200terapagos woke up, saw cute human looking at it with no harmful intentions, just happy curiosity, and wanted to walk over to say hi like some wild pokemon do, but kieran was like “i don’t fucking think so” and bonked it over the head with a ball which enslaved it and forced it to fight the human it just wanted to say hi to but of course it can tell the human really doesn’t want to fight either and once kieran tries to push it further it becomes so powerful and enraged it loses its mind, breaks the master ball, and lashes out blindly in rage until the player and kieran defeat it and the player catches it i like to think that the player character left area zero, put terapagos on their team, set up a picnic and tried to talk to it, like it wanted to do in the first place

Honestly the dlc was so good, I’m hoping that they will make it a movie instead, and not another multiverse type movie, but in line with Horizons universe like how all Pokémon movies before I Choose You took place in the main universe with the same cast of characters as the show. Did you guys have trouble with Terapogos? It knocked out a few of my Pokemon, sure, but the actual trouble was just it keep putting the shield up, but that was more annoying than anything. Also it seemed obvious to point out, but the room its in looks like a Tera den.

Additionally, when Terapagos drains Terastal energy from your 'mon, it also drains your stat buffs (found this out the hard way when I used my Archaludon--which has Stamina--to fight it)

I find Ogerpon can do decent damage to the shield when it’s transformed it is guaranteed to wipe it out if it’s a high enough level.

Do yourselves a favour and Terrastalize when you can during this fight. I had a soft rule where I never use a regional gimmick when I don't have to, and it turned this boss into a 10 minute slog fest with only 2 lvl 100 pokemon left by the end.

Yes, my power and theirs is paired unlike anything my pokemon have been by me for a long time and with them I'll, I'll figure something out. I don't have a bond with my pokemon and I always think about myself when battling not about them it's probably why they're not at their full potential
