@@curnott6051 Game Theory - The super smart Pokemon are actually all extremely old and Pokemon in general are either extremely long lived or don't age. The smart Pokemon just enjoy doing some honorable battling and helping the victor, then they just hang out with them until they die of old age and the cycle begins anew.

At least that's the current popular theory, that humans are just another one of the Pokemon that Arceus created with the purpose of bring out the full potential of other kinds of Pokemon. The deep lore of Pokemon can be a bit confusing and unclear at times.
