I know! They could've done so much more with it. All the routes needed to be lengthened, but especially this one. It doesn't even force you to go through grass! I'm glad B2W2 lengthened the home stretch.

Hoenn comes in a close second for me. For how little I played Hoenn (it basically consisted of a weekend) it's amazing how well the Route themes stuck in my head.

This game has really had an impact on me. When Bianca's dad arrived at Nimbasa City, I cried and wished for Bianca to stay. N's farewell, the gym battles, Team Plasma, and everything made this a beautiful game. This amazing song brings back the nostalgic memories of starting your adventure as a Trainer, accepting the quest to complete the Pokedex. If you are a Pokemon hater, please give Pokemon a chance. You don't know the true beauty hidden deep inside. Long live Pokemon!!

With the past generations, a lot of the routes before victory road seem to hype you up somehow in my eyes gen 5 changes all that, instead it’s the type of music that makes you think about how far you’ve come, and you’re journey will soon be at its end. The kind of music like this is part of the reason gen 5 will always be one of my favorites

Back in 2011. I remember playing this game one thursday (maybe?) at noon. Walking along this route, facing the trainers on the road and then my rival. My team was (all that I can remember) Samurott, Druddigon (or maybe it was Whimsicott?), Krookodile, Sigilyph, Klinklang (or Klang, dunno, I think it was Klang) and Simisear. I was watching TV on April Semana Santa vacations while playing, lying on my bed with the heat in my room. Normally I am not able to remember my past days perfectly like this, but I remember that day thanks to this music, one of the best in the game and in the entire gens. So, so nostalgic, indeed.

I swear, when I first heard this, I almost cried. It reminded me of all the previous games and just how far I had come in my life, and how Pokemon has been with me almost every step of the way. Pokemon forever, no matter how old you are.

This song sounds so amazing and has a very sad feel into it, just listening to it makes me want to cry a bit and remember the times when I used to have Pokemon white. P.S. : Forget the people who say that the 1st generation was the best, they need to make a remake of Black & White. EDIT: holy crap, I completely forgot that I commented on this a while back. Yeah, I'll take back what I said about the remakes. Judging the fact of the dumb shit that Gamefreak has been coming up with recently in their games, I'm sure we're pretty much better off. Hell, it actually worries me what's to come for the diamond/pearl remakes.

It's been more than a decade and every time I listen to this, I still feel like this song is telling me a story. Since the first tale it told me when I first came across it as a child to the way it invites me today to remember my journey, it has no words and yet its voice is beautiful.

@@francescoiorfino2002 You say that, but it's actually still fully in the game files, and can be reenabled with music, trainers, pokemon spawns, the checkpoint, everything - though with some glitchiness. The music itself is actually still accessible in the game too, in the ex-grunt's house in Icirrus City you can talk to someone who is a sound designer and make the music play.

I think it got a lot of hate in the beginning because of some of the pokemon designs. Like Vanilluxe (ice cream cone) and a literal trash bag pokemon. The anime was also pretty bad too

I got gen 5 sometime in late 2011, and stopped midway through, only to try it again in 2012. When I heard this, I just sat there and listened to it for a good 10 minutes, regretting the decision to halt my playthrough.

My favorite games are the 1st gen games, and I'm really annoyed with the stuff they took out of 5th gen. Except the variable experience gained. I did not care for that. But everything else - double grass, grotto, phenomena, music changing with movement, seasons changing... I loved those. Oh, except the pokemon musical. Did not like the pokemon musical that was boring as hell. Pokestar Studios was great though.

X and Y are by far the most revolutionary games in the series so far. In a good way. The games are great in my opinion. Unova had its moments, but Kalos feels so much more alive in every way. They're both outstanding generations, but I like generation 6 best.

It's tough for me to pick, but I liked Gen V just a tiny bit more than VI. There was just something about it. Also, Black was my first Pokemon game, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Revisit B/W series in 2023 and DAMN... Like the meme said "It's still beautiful as like the last time I left it", last time I played this on NDSi and now I play it in emulator. Still brings me back a lot of memories, the story, music, legendary lore, pokemon designs, city design, BGM. Thanks GameFreak for one of the best Pokemon series you've made.

ahhh Gen 5 one of my fav gens only after gen 4…gen 5 for me was a treasure of a generation and also around the time regular show was hot on Cartoon Network…man I miss the days of Pokémon between gens 4-5 & by this point in Pokémon white I had samurott, conkeldurr, simisear, rufflet, excadrill, and galvantula

This always reminds me of the days when the Pokemon games weren't rushed to be out by the holiday seasons and were actually polished. Don't get me wrong, Generation 8 has its upsides, but there were plenty more bad things about them. National Dex cutting was the big one, not to mention adding an option to turn the EXP Share off for those who didn't want it.

As it’s been echoed already, there’s a certain melancholy tone to this which makes it super powerful. It’s fitting too. You’re about to make your way to in all likelihood fight N (it’s not yet known if he’s taken the league yet, but everyone seems to be aware that you’re going to have to face him) and that fight is going to determine the fate of the region. I don’t 100% recall if there’s dialogue pertaining to this when your rivals farewell you, but it’s at least implied all the same, all the characters know what’s about to go down and that just makes this theme all the more powerful. Great track from a great game.

This song always brings back the memories of me playing White version I my dad's old truck at the marina where I keep my boat. I got White when it first came out and it was my first introduction to Pokémon. Over hundreds of hours are on the file. I would always play it whenever I was down at the shore or on my boat fishing, ah memories.

you finally make it to route 10, after battling all the gym leaders. you take a stroll and rest. you finally got here. you're steps away from being champion, you admire the memories you made along the way. you finally think about what you're going to do. get past victory road, battle the elite four and become champion.

It is my personal opinion that this is the best music in any of the Pokémon games. I congratulate the artist for this, as this is not an easy composition to visualize!

The idea of you playing this game at that time knowing that gen 5 is the last gen in the ds and there's no more games on it makes it very sad , it's like a way for the game to say goodbye or something

This music is so beautiful in a nostalgic way! It's very different from other pre-victory road music tracks. I think this makes it the most adult. It symbolizes the story of the game in a very good way.

This song is fitting for me because this was the LAST Pokemon game i was fully invested in, mainly because I had to erase my data and give Black, Pearl and HeartGold to my niece and I never played a Pokémon game since.
