Maybe some people from Galar are from there too, Rose being a good candidate. We know this because 1) In Raichu's dex entry in FireRed says it has the voltage to take out an Indian elephant, 2) in this game, Laventon writes that Raichu has the voltage to take out a Copperajah from his homeland, and 3) in Copperajah's dex entry in Sword, it says Copperajah came from a different region than Galar.

Sounds like Time Travel to me. I mean, the protagonist has no issues with pokemon, because they come from a time when pokemon and humans more or less coexist in harmony. EvenAkari/Rei lampshade that fact and find it incredible that the protagonist has no hesitation or fear of pokemon

Game could've used more animations and better graphics, but it is for sure a step into the right direction. First pokemon game I played and finished in a long time.

@@garreonlefay6703 It's not the past of the player characters world, they ostensibly come from the "real world". That's why Arceus explains that pokemon exist to you, and why your character doesn't know anything about them

Tbf, you can find the Magnemite line normally in places, so it makes some sense. Porygon is pure computer data somehow materialized into a physical form, so those reactions especially make sense. (Also, I love Porygon-Z's dex entry so much, idk why I find it as funny as I do. Lol)

Yeah eevee is really easy to find. I was pissed that I couldn't use an umbreon (my all time favorite pokemon) in BDSP till the damn postgame so I immediately got an eevee and evolved it before I crossed the first bridge 😅

@@darknesswave100 My team by the end was Samurott named Ronin, a Leafeon named Matcha (all my eeveelutions are named after food; there's Matcha, Rem, Sakura, Choco, Soba, Mochi, Azuki, and Aisu), an alpha Honchkrow named Hibari (a reference to Way of the House Husband), an alpha Goodra named Rimuru (yes, like the slime isekai), an alpha Mamoswine named Mamosuke (this one was more of a pun), and an alpha girl Zoroark named Samara (yes, like the girl from the Ring, I got from a later part of the main quest; spoilers, you'll get opportunities to battle and catch three alphas, two of which are very rare and one of these two doesn't even spawn let alone as an alpha while the other is just stupidly rare to spawn as an alpha and as a girl, they can't be shiny but their natures and genders are random). Most of my named Pokemon are anime or manga references, but they're all like Japanese because I am a fucking weeb and thought naming them with Japanese thematic names would be appropriate. I got a shiny alpha Oshawott from a trade giveaway, I named her Tomoe (like the irl woman samurai and like from Moonlit Fantasy). I also have a Ursaluna named Sugimoto and a Decidueye named Asirpa. I got an alpha Parasect I named Umami and gave it to the mushroom kid for a quest and it's the funniest shit walking into his house to see this fucking unit. And then there's fucking Terry the Tangela.

It's not. From the translations I've read of their employee blog, there is no urgency or crunch at Game Freak. They take vacations even right before launch, plus there's a lot of in-fighting and favoritism. The reason their games are like this is a combination of bad management, low budgets, and high turnover of talented staff (they get exploited and then leave, hence why GF is constantly hiring).

@@AeroViro It seems that at GF when someone hands in the work, they are given the full credit even if that person had another staffer come to help them solve problems. This led to inexperienced staff handing in work they got more talented staff to help with, and the more talented staff feeling exploited. But despite this they do not have a sense of urgency to polish the games before launch.

@@Hugsloth Where's that info about staff coming from? I don't recall anyone ever stating this sort of thing going on. They've outwardly stated that they encourage the newer staff as much as possible, even putting them to work on major parts of the games alongside the old guard. As for the older staff those extra games like Harmoknight and Little Town Hero are side projects purely to prevent burnout from Pokemon and allow for experimentation with other styles and genres of game. I'm not sure where these words of infighting and the "talented staff" feeling slighted come from aside from a dubious account by a "former GF employee" around the time SwSh came out. The truth is that the Gen 8 games were not a result of crunch but a result of poor planning. The three year gen cycle worked fine in the past but not on the jump to the Switch, and they couldn't just delay because Pokemon isn't just a video game anymore, it's a franchise. Delaying the games would mean delaying everyone else, the people who work on merch, the anime, the manga, the side games. That's a lot of companies and contracts. Yes SwSh and PLA came out less than best but lets not let speculation go too wild on the reasons why.

The clans deals is that long ago they sailed to Hisui looking for the god they called Sinnoh, they each have different ideas on what Sinnoh is, but even they aren't the land's original inhabitants. That would be the Celestica people, a mysterious civilization with pseudo-Roman styled clothing and architecture. They have ruins, there's two known descendants, there's legends and old records, but that's about it, nobody knows what became of them. The clans took some inspiration of Sinnoh and the legends from the Celestica people.

Lian is from the Pearl Clan, so he's a native of Sinnoh. Which does line up because his descendant Clay was designed as a Japanese immigrant chasing the American dream, according to an interview with Ken Sugimori.

@@peterthepeopleeater5697 Fun is definitely the most important aspect, but we shouldn't underestimate the importance of visuals. Humans naturally prefer things that look nice over things that don't. So even if the graphics don't make the actual gameplay any less fun, I think everyone would prefer if it was at least on par with other Nintendo titles.

I'd say that's just cause gameplay's more important than graphics. Minecraft isn't the best selling game of all time for how it looks after all.(not that good graphics aren't needed at all, it'd be nice)

@@mx.e2176 I only say baffling since it’s Pokémon and the new gameplay style is actually pretty fresh and fun unlike the previous games where the fun was kinda hit or miss. Was worried it would be slowly repetitive but was surprised that a lot of effort was put into gameplay. I still wished the game didn’t blind my eyes with flashing trees and grass if I do happen to look at them funny from afar.
