9:12 This is the most real thing. I think I saw someone joke about how digimon look like they were designed by little kids, but they work. And I couldn’t agree more. Pokemon is a lot more how I would expect an evolution line to go. At least they stay the animal they are based on. My theory is that he has a necklace that doesn't allow him to die and if he dies than whatever that touches the necklace will be controlled by him and he can create clones of himself if someone is with contact with the necklace for long time so whenever his new host becomes over 10 years old (or is close to becoming 11) he kidnaps a children making him the clone of himself and then he kills himself while the clone is wearing the amulet so he becomes the clone (yes this is literaly the story dr. brown from scp)

there's a season of digimon where the main guy has to land a solid punch on the enemy with his own human fists in order for his mon to evolve and fight, and I wish pokemon had done something similar.
