Tera fighting Mew is hands down the best Mew for a solo run specificially because you have to deal with dark types so early on. The other types you get serious covereage options for before you battle them. For Mew though you only get Pounce which is neutral to dark/steel Pawniard, making tera fighting Aura Sphere the best type to roll with early.

Too funny and PERFECT! I actually given this is eight days old today (9/2), thought of this after you- but only saw this video now. Two days ago. NEVER in the years I have played Pokémon, being since I was about 16- or there abouts, when it was just Red, Blue, & Yellow (plus a Green that wasn’t in American or for here). Now turning 41 on the 17th, NEVER ever owned/ had a Mew…. Jirachi was the only had to get legend I have ever had… So had to do this, get Mew, deposit it in the box then move to my Pokémon Home, delete file and repeat… Til I had 8 in my Pokémon Home then start a final game on that MII file with a Mew only run (with the 9th) lol. About a half hour EVEN with fast text to get through to the game to that Center…. Just too much chat to mash through…. That rival talks way too much, Penny’s statement in the game is too true… But never had a Mew and can get it early, lvl5 and with my ID. Interesting fact- don’t bother me but, even when you are it’s Original Trainer, you CANNOT give (this) Mew a Nickname. I was going to nickname mine just ‘Big daddy Mew’ lol… Anyhow, for my Mew run, given Mew can learn any and every teachable move under the sun, it’s really over powered and needs a rule to keep the run not so easy SO… I came up with my own *SPECIAL Mew run challenge Rule duo* Wanna hear it or not, here it is: 1.) After *EACH* gym, Titan, Team Star Base, Elite four member and Champion, The final Nemona battle (where you actually HAVE to win) or any big “boss” like battle; All 4 moves Mew knew/ knows going in to each *goes on a ban list* they MUST be immediately replaced or ‘forgotten’ and replaced with a move not known yet. 2.) No learning/ teaching moves with power greater than 90 *unless* the accuracy is 50 or less. Otherwise without these two rules- you can’t call a Mew solo run a “challenge”, as what’s hard or remotely difficult about it otherwise??

Got a thought that feels Relevant to this… Mew, from the one I got in a game, I had finished Scarlet with, noticed NOT all Mew’s stats are rated “best” or even “fantastic”, in fact the 1st Mew I got had a over all Stats Rating of ‘Great’…. So… Yeah, your mew probably had weak Sp Atk stat… And some other stat or 2 lack luster… 5:40 Water Type move: Scald; can cause a burn 🔥 11:30 Wasn’t going to beat you with “cheese”? I do wanna say that your comment about Mew's power creep don't fully work. Yes, for competitive Pokemon, that's true.... but a play through??? Starting with base 100 in everything is a HUGE advantage.... like, Mew is basically just broken for a base play through.... And base 100 in everything means that Mew can be customized in almost any way.... In fact, if Mew just had a better ability, it'd be greater in competitive....

The answer is no. But not because Mew is not good. No its because the game literally will not let you get passed Team Star without at least two pokemon. Someone tried this with an Eevee and found the same soft-lock.
