Loved Conquest. A bit too much like Onimusha Tactics and not enough like Nobunaga's Ambition for my liking but it is still a great game.

The only way I can imagine catching a Pokémon being more annoying is if it was a 1% chance of being encountered one random grass tile (which one is different for each save file) in the Safari Zone, and only had a chance of spawning when you _stepped_ on the tile (which means no spinning in place to make the timer last longer.)

Until corrected later, I'll go with how Astrons did and just say that we got isekai'd roughly 150 years in the past. So, instead of future self it's a more morbid "I just saw what I'm doing after I'm somehow dead".

I wonder if it's more like them being an alternate reality version of Dawn/Lucas where pokemon is a media thing like in our world because the only thing on them relating to Pokemon is their shirt which could be merch for a Pokemon fan. They still understand catching Pokemon and stuff from playing games or watching TV.
