I loved Pokemon for the longest time. I never had any specific Pokemon title I liked more. Maybe Gen 3, and Gen 5, since those were the ones I was able to play on Emulator. I dunno. Something about a Hawaiian beach setting really spoke to me, and this was the year I finally had a current handheld system. Man...my first blind Pokemon playthrough. No guides, no cheats, nothing. My favorite Pokemon Chinchou? I found that sucker by accident, and it made me so happy I cried. The Team Skull soundtrack? Some of my favorite music ever. I listen to it all the time. Pokemon Go? Started that game around the same time as Pokemon Sun and Moon. Wouldn't you know it? It's 2022 now. Pokemon Go is releasing events centered around Alola. You better believe I bought the Team Skull gesture.

I know this comment is four years old and is buried in the comments section, but yes, I also picked up clues about a connection between Guzma and Kahili! Out of all the things with the minor characters, THIS is the one I wanted to see explored a little more. My headcannon is that they were rivals in the past, either at golfing, Pokemon, or both.

Plus their chosen types Flying and Bug have this major antagonism. And I wouldn't be surprised if she's around the same age as him and Kukui. There's fanfics out there that fill in the blanks. A few I remember are one with them golfing together in the present day (while dating), one where Kahili visits him at Skull's base in Po Town, and another where those two, Kukui, and Molayne are all traveling together as trial goers at first then a clash between them causes Guzma to leave the group in shame. I think it was AT LEAST a little more than rivals with them. Why else would they squat the same way unless one of them copied the other one time and it stuck? Don't know if you're familiar with Fairy Tail, but those two also remind me of Mirajane and Laxus.

I haven't read any fanfics (I'm scared to get started, LOL), but Guzma/Kahili is one of my favorite headcannon ships, precisely for the reason you mentioned. I also guessed that Guzma, Kahili, Kukui, and Molayne are all around the same age, though with Pokemon characters, you never know. This is all really fun for me to speculate on, even though the games are years old at this point. The deep character connections are the reason I played the Alola games so many times in a row.

I actually thought that Kukui and Olivia had something romantic or sexual going on when I first saw them together (little did I know that he was spoken for XD). Both paths with the Aether family are well done too, ESPECIALLY the SM turn of events. I wonder if it's a part of the themes of cooperation and coexistence tied to Alola.

Okay, kind of late... you probably figured this out by now... but just in case- So basically after you beat the story/main game if you head to a small house on route 2 (the one with the blue roof and a baby swing next to it) and go inside Guzma is standing near the entrance. Hope that helped. :D
