7:47 - Most players didn't see it but after the battle, in a moment there, Hau cried in losing to you, may it be Tears of Joy that you gave him the serious battle he'd been wanting.. or be it out of disappoinment, but out of all this, he still managed to be happy for the player. My Favorite Pokemon Battle Moment.

I remember playing this game for the first time, getting ready to face Kukui just like in Sun and Moon. I finally get to the Champion's Room and watch him walk in. Then the familiar dialogue. But when he hit me with that "Just Kidding!" AND FREAKING HAU WALKED UP THOSE STAIRS!!!!! I actually wanted to cry. Definitely one of my favorite moments in the series.

I remember sun and moon. A lot of the same aesthetics for stuff such as stat debuffs were used in sword and shield. I loved the game and am really happy to see Solgaleo and Lunala and the Tapu characters in the game.

Hau is so easy that he knocked out only one of my Pokemon while Guzma swept my whole team with his Pinsir. Guzma in the 3rd battle is much harder.

But Hau wasn't the champion since he's listed as Pokémon Trainer, not Champion. And even then, he would've been at the throne already, which didn't happen. EDIT: Hau also said at the end that he wasn't able to become champion this time. And the player's the first champion in Alola.

Honestly, that's why I love this fight so much. It's certainly not the best champion fight, Cynthia and Steven exist, but it's for sure the next best purely because of story context. For once, you're not actually battling the CHAMPION. This is the only final boss in the series that is purely from an equal ground. Blue already was the champion when Red got there (Origins implies he had to beat the prior one, judging by the Hall of Fame), and everyone else was already reigning sans Kukui, who is your mentor regardless (Steven did this far better, anyway). You and Hau are fighting to BE the first champion, and it almost feels like a reverse Red v Blue, considering how Hau is painted to be the one who takes the gameplay role of the Pokémon protagonist, specifically Red (Weaker starter, Pikachu, etc.). You're Blue, he's Red, but both of you are on equal footing. For once, it feels UNIQUE. USUM are still shit games, though.

Just finished this in a breez with only my Incineroar on lv73 with Dark Lariat, Flame Charge, Flare Blitz and cross chop. Also 1 roto stat boost, 2 max potion and 1Full Restore. I did a Starter only run and was very pleased how much i rekt everything...except Ultra Necrozma, had to cheese that or overlevel much much more to be fast enough, calculated that i would still oneshot it at that time with stab dark z-move if i just where fast enough (Incineroar was lv63 at that point)>_>

Fight was pretty easy, I honestly prepared my team order for Kuikui, but still managed to beat Hau without using and healing items or any Pokemon fainting

I like the idea that we're the rival in this version and Hau is the main protagonist who can never beat us but at the same time we both are protagonist but of different personal stories I mean think about His attitude screams protagonist while we can choose to be like that or just be like this uncaring asshole He's always one step behind us He runs up on us and challenges us to a fight and to top to all off to prove that we're the rival Hau will have what our type is Super Effective against.

We all know Hau isn't "Champion", but this is in the format of a Champion battle. It's after the Elite 4, has unique battle music and everything. Petty complaint. For people complaining about Hau himself, I actually liked him as a rival. He even showed character development by realizing that fun isn't all there is to battling, but also working as hard as his Pokemon are for him to win. For those complaining about difficulty, this guy used Ultra Necrozma to win, and it's most likely harder to win when you don't have the strongest Pokemon in the game. This was a great battle imo
