I dont believe in the part that the game is abandoned. But the part that says "the things on the chinese server wont come to global" that is true. The company riot did this with league of legends wild Rift and other games as well. It has a lot of things on the chinese version that never came to the global version. I highly doubt we will get these really diferent things we see on the trailer on global. I hope im wrong because i want to see all these amazing things in the game

It's difficult because this is a global online game that we still have competitions like the world champions, but we do have proof that they abandoned a game and only update it for the Chinese version. Pokémon Quest is the example. It came out, got a few patches and got completely forgot, but in China is still updated currently even after 5 whole years and they added almost every Pokémon, instead of only the first 151 we had for the rest of the world. It's a different kind of game and scenario, but something to consider. Though I doubt it will happen for Unite too.

While I don't think that they are abandoning the global release or anything, I think you're a bit too hopeful about the new stuff being added to the global version. It's very much the standard for most games that get sent to China to be completely new games with tons changed about them, so I honestly don't think any of these changes will come over. I'm not sure why that's the case, it might be needed to be able to release the games in China since they're far more strict when it comes to what games can release at all, but it's the truth nowadays sadly. The only things I think we'll get from that version are the new pokemon and holowear, which I think they'll probably continue to push to the global version FIRST regardless. And on the argument that Pokemon Company wouldn't be okay with doing that - Pokemon Quest is a perfect example. The game released globally to moderate success, then they made a completely new version for China a few years later that continues to get updates (has all of Johto and Hoenn mons) while the global version hasn't gotten a single update past initial release. I'm not saying that's what is happening here, like I said I don't think that they will ever abandon the global version of Unite, but I don't think we'll be getting any of the COOL changes from the Chinese version either.

I don’t know how one can claim that the global version hasn’t been neglected the last few months. The large amount of time M2Y went unnerfed, the lack of any significant additions during and after two year anniversary, no new map, recycled Halloween event, very bad Blaziken release, no new emblems, etc. all indicate to me how little time, money, and effort is being spent on the game. I don’t care why the game has been neglected and I don’t care about China, but to look at what’s happened these last few months and think that’s all ok seems willfully ignorant:

Honestly, I've just been ignoring the Chinese stuff cause it doesn't look that great IMO. If ppl really think they've abandoned the global version, they don't understand game development & what goes on behind the scenes. China usually has different versions of many games from what I guess just to be different. The only ppl that can shutdown our version of PKMN Unite is The Pokemon Company. Remember that. They have the last say along with Nintendo.

Why cant we have a single version? And Unite could be a good start for the Pokemon MMO that we need in our lives.

Unfortunately something like this has already happened, pokemon quest got a Chinese version and the global release was abandoned.

One thing I would like from the Chinese version beside the lobbies is the game mode where once you take the zones, you win. Maybe shorter compared to current games, but I like to think the can be engaging.

There's a couple things I would like to see make it to global release if they do. But I am glad that the global release remains separate from the China release. I wasn't a fan of the set amount goal pads that didn't allow overcapping.

When I play Unite on my phone I don't have lags when traversing the menus, on the Switch it's quite bad/slow. In the video shown they're clearly showing a mobile version, but it's quite laggy. Can't imagine how bad it'll run on the Switch. Though, not any of our concern because we'll never get it. (r.i.p. the backpacks)

I’m pretty sure this is all going to drop in an update for the global version once they finish working on it for the Chinese version. I can almost guarantee you that they are testing this overworld thing in the Chinese version first to see how it runs be for releasing it for global

Honestly, I don't mind if Chinese version has some special content for it if it's cosmetic(open lobby, skins, exclusive BP and so). What I really want from what we saw in Chinese version: 1) new game modes, 2)new upgrades for basic moves.

I highly doubt they would just abandon the global version, there is an entire e-sports community around it so that just wouldn’t fly. The most that will happen is perhaps a merger with the Chinese version further down the line; and as long as I can keep my account and everything I’ve earned on it over the years then I really wouldn’t care. The title really scares me since i played the game Overwatch a lot but the devs abandoned the game for 5 years to work on Overwatch 2 they gave us teasers that showed insane stuff, it was supposed to be god tier level but when it finally came out we got the same game, all that was shown nothing of the big stuff actually came to the game.. they abandoned a game for 5 years to work on a game to then tease it, hype it up and then abandon the game and release it barely any different from Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 1 got closed so you can't play it anymore.. the only big change is skins got really expensive..

Im well aware they not abandoning the main game the problem for me is most of us on copium cause it’s only a beta and off the bat their game is > than the global game rn all of us even you are being hopeful for things that may not even come to global and all we able to do is be hopeful because the devs of the game that’s played worldwide decides not to let us know anything but decides to let us know everything bout the Chinese beta

First off, it happened with Pokemon Quest. The global version stopped seeing new content, the CN version is still going strong nearly 5 years later. Riot also did a smaller version of this with LoL and Wild Rift. The CN version gets a LOT of things that never went global. It's pretty common for games to give the CN market special/more attention. Especially considering they will send death threats otherwise, it happened with Honkai Star Rail. The game won't die, but it will probably be the unwanted step child. Given just enough attention to keep it going.

They were updating emblems every 3 months, it’s been 9 months now, so we should be on the first half of Sinnoh, waiting on the last half

Hmm... Okay, I think the global Unite won't be abandoned, but I'm convinced that Unite 2.0 will probably have a lot features that won't ever come to the global Unite. The Pokemon Company still has a hand in this, so I'd think they would try to prevent actual abandonment. (Or take over the development of the global version somehow if TIMI has lost interest in upkeeping the global version altogether.) Pokemon Quest was fairly popular, but it wasn't as big as Unite. The Pokemon Company might have decided to let some Chinese devs have fun with it, and didn't bother to arrange a deal where the changes they make would be ported to the global version. They've probably talked things over for Unite 2.0 though. Just, none of us knows the details lol.

This is going to sound crazy but what are your thoughts on nerfing the amount of aeos energy pokemon can hold from 30, 40, 50 to 10, 20, 30? I feel like with a 500-point system this would make Rayquaza feel slightly less detrimental. It would make early game stacking easier since you can't over collect energy and backcapping would take less time but also be less effective and done less. I just feel like 500 points is too easy to get. The games used to be (in the beginning of Unite) in the low thousand area, but I would say most current games have a score of anywhere from 180-1000 with 500 feeling like low average. With 50 energy, 2x score, 5 players and Rayquaza that's the score needed to win just in the last two minutes of a 10-minute game.

Can i give an example of a pokemon game that is neglected after an Chinese release? Pokemon QUEST for the switch. It is a fun game and the international version has only dex 1 while the Chinese version has already extra pokedexes and much more new game mechanics. English version is now totally dead.

It's a Chinese beta, I mean we keep saying beta. Same as the release beta only existed in Apac 2 years ago, China has a massive player base, and they are using the new region to test out stuff that will come to a global re release version when ready, granted the competition season is coming up soon so they need to kick it in gear, but the stuff I'm seeing in China makes me very hopeful for the grand changes coming to unite

Chinese version of the games I play always look better or at least different, I played this one game that the Chinese version was just straight up better from the price to the how it played to even the character model. They even have characters exclusive only for Chinese server, like other server even the main one where it all started doesn't have it. The dev won't abandoned the game, but I also would say a lot of stuff from Chinese version almost never come to the globals. It just happen so many times from the games I played.

Don't get hopes too high. Usually, if the game has special Chinese version, all [or at least most] of unique content stays in this version. There is a ton of Chinese PvZ versions, it's crazy. And nothing from it was added to the global version. Devs won't abandon the global version, but I highly doubt anything from Chinese version will make its way to the Global

Blizzard the developers of overwatch basically abandoned the game for 3 or 4 years to make a sequel that was just an upgraded engine and a shop. Companies will do anything for profits even if it doesn't make sense to fans

I will say we saw this happen before with Fallout actually. Fallout Shelter, the app game for the Fallout series, had a sequel exclusively to China! And it looks way better than our version! Not saying they would do the same thing but it has happened before

I HOPE that timi is using the Chinese version to play around with wild ideas. It gets to a point however, where the two version become TOO different. Removing the time limit has effectually done this. World wide unite has to now release a special mode where it's first to score an amount wins. Then this mode has to be more popular than the standard ranked. it just seams too drastic... The moves extra upgrades are arguably more lickly to come to WW unite.... even then balancing is an issue. The world wide audience is far more sensitive to unbalanced meta's. People complain and actually stop playing. Where as in china people tend to complain less about balance issues and even less lickly to stop playing all together.

Items like leftovers and drain crown haven't been buffed or reworked to make it any decent If a father goes for milk and comes back after every 5 years you cannot technically call it abandoned but it's close
