I've watched this probably a dozen times over the last few weeks since viewing it for the first time....never gets old! I was in my early 30's when this cast was the SNL regulars. How this one got by me puzzles me but I think Michael McKean was a regular for a short stint not a guest host....that makes this kind of a stand out...everyone in this sketch is a stand out but, Myers with that moustache, sophisticated English accent and demeanor shouting IGNORAMOUS gets me everytime.....got tip my hat to Juila Sweeney playing Billys girlfriend with that adorable laugh.....oh my gosh, where have all the goid and fun times gone😥

Glad Michael McKean finally got to flex his acting chops on BCS. After Laverne and Shirley and Spinal Tap he was type-casted into mostly slapstick comedy roles and bit parts like this skit, but he finally got a major role as a serious character and knocked it out of the park. Who'd have thought he'd be in a hilarious TV show as one of the LEAST funny characters?

Back then the studio audience was pretty silent. This is Shakespeare compared to much of what's on snl now, and I think they pump in zombified audiences to laugh hysterically at crap.

Esteves was always good in everything. He wasn't funny, but he could hang around. I remember this was a good episode. And I think the mighty Pearl Jam were the musical guests. Hartman, Schneider, Farley, Sandler, Meadows, Spade, Nealon, and Carvey. Damn. Untouchables. Greatest cast of all time. The good old days. SNL is fuckin horrendous and unwatchable now. Literally, unwatchable.

There has never been a golden age of SNL. It goes through the same exact cycle of everyone thinking the current season is trash. It happened even with this cast. It's funny to the right age group at the right time same as today's. I assume this just happens to be OUR generation.
