I wonder who produces this show? Do they care about people watching? If so can they watch the successful ESPN broadcasts. During the coverage of the main event no active number of how many people left. Constantly asking people to like and subscribe. It's like boomers who've never watching content online took over the greatest poker tournament in the world and were like I know what people want, a paywall and for our commentators to say like and subscribe over and over .

In fact they even want people to pay for an annual subscription to PokerGO , because they offer a $20 off bonus code it's pretty annoying for the people that just want to see this one tournament which is the biggest one in the year. ppv is not even available...

I noticed a strange issue: 1. **Angelov's original raise:** 4,600,000 2. **Kim's 3bet:** 11,800,000 3. **Difference:** 11,800,000 - 4,600,000 = 7,200,000 Based on this difference, Astedt's minimum 4bet should be: 11,800,000 + 7,200,000 = 19,000,000 However, in the picture, it shows Astedt raising to 18,000,000, which is indeed less than the minimum raise required by the rules. According to the rules, his raise is not valid; the minimum should be 19,000,000. Therefore, Astedt's raise is indeed less than the minimum raise required by the rules.

This really isn't a punt unless you're playing against nits. Lena absolutely should be caging Kim with the 4bet. I'll give you some free coaching since the nits and fun players are out in droves. The btn's range is basically irrelevant as it's so wide so Kim knows that and elects to 3bet bluff, Lena being the absolute end game online boss that wins everything decides to 4b. Which can be a lot wider than people realize since it can get btn to fold a vast majority of their range and also Kim can't really flat (hence using the minbet; I know it wasn't a legal bet, moving on). So that's why he clicks it back. With those dynamics in mind Kim has a hand that blocks a decent bit of stuff that calls like KK and AK. Unsure what KQs does for Lena but you get the idea. It also unblocks 99-QQ which most combos are calling but it's not like he's in terrible shape vs any of those, plus TT wanted to fold here but had to call ultimately.

I just watched this hand back again on the highlight reel and, as Lon astutely points out, players don't have to double the raise but they do have to match the raise of the last player. Unfortunately, Lon failed to notice that Astedt did NOT match the previous raise and was a million short if the graphics are correct. 4.6 to 11.8 is a raise of 7.2, but 11.8 to 18 is only a raise of 6.2. I realize this is inconsequential to the outcome of the hand but any dealer at the final table of the WSOP should have noticed.

Analysis: It’s always an interesting dynamic when play folds around on the button late in a tournament as stacks are short and picking up blinds and antes become essential to survive & win. In truth, most players struggle with button vs blind play as most common poker theory dramatically changes in this spot. Some players will relentlessly defend their blinds especially to the more than standard 2x raise late in a tourney claiming they have enough pot odds to justify a call with rags out of the BB. In most cases, making these calls will just have you bleed more chips over time and have you make more mistakes as you are at a big disadvantage post flop being both out of position, have no betting lead, or a range advantage. In this hand Angelov has an unsuited Ace on the button and there is no reason not to take a stab at the blinds. He raises a little more than 2x which I like a lot as a bigger button raise deters the blinds from defending and if they choose to defend than they put themselves in a disadvantage with a bigger pot. Kim picks up K6 suited in the SB and in most cases, you are just going to muck this hand, but Kim decides to take a stand with this hand. I like the play using this as a raise or fold strategy from the SB, but think he is much better off doing this with a suited wheel Ace. Astedt in the BB picks up a real hand with his pocket 10’s - he is the massive chip leader and covers both players combined. Calling here with his stack would be the worst thing to do as 1010 oop 3 ways becomes a much weaker holding. What is interesting about his 4 bet was how small it was at is only a min 4 bet. If I was in this position covering both players only have 1/3 of my stack at risk - I would have made a 4 bet around 26-30M, put both players to the test and most likely take the pot down preflop, but I’m not a world class bro - his 4 bet sizing gets an easy fold Angelov. Kim now decides to take a stand and shove against Astedt representing a big hand. I love the heart and these are plays you have to make to win a big tournament - but the timing is probably wrong. Hard to think Astedt is bluffing with his 4 bet here and bullying around these two, but Kim who had a rough start at the final table losing a large portion of his stack to Griff when his nut flush ran into a Griff boat might have been tilting a little. This isn’t exactly an easy call by Astedt as Kim is representing a huge hand & Astedt is hoping that he is in a coin flip situation as he doesn’t block any AA-JJ. Let’s look at the math and range Kim is representing. Kim’s 3 bet in the SB followed by a shove is representing the top range. AA-JJ, AK, mixing in a few bluffs on this range chart - Astedt is a little more than 40%. It costs Astedt 41M to win a pot of 114M almost 3-1 needing him to be a 33% dog to be mathematically correct. If you factor in ICM and the fact that Astert only has to risk 1/3 of his stack and if he loses is still second in chips it’s a fairly easy call. Turns out he was way ahead and a 68% favorite. Astedt called hit his set on the flop, the turn gave Kim a flush draw but a brick river gave Astedt the hand. Of course, everyone will look at this play and think it’s an insane move by Kim. This is a genius 4 bet by Astedt as he is almost forcing Kim to do anything but fold with this small sizing and shows why he is one of the best in the world. Kim had the right idea but the wrong situation here - as folding to the 4 bet would have put him as the bottom stack but still not that far behind the field. Kim who was second in chips to start the final table had run into some tough luck and unfortunately was probably a little tilted in the heat of battle on this one here.

@@karanswaich9601 correct. Facing a 5bet TT is just a bluff catcher. And how many people are bluffing in the main final table? Not many. Maybe less than 5% of the time ever in that spot is someone bluffing. He just happens to catch him bluffing with a very very bad hand and flopped a set. Overall in the long run this is a - EV call. But hey It worked out. Happy for him
