All these people have probably been hacking since the 3ds era, and now that pokemon team building is so much easier, they don't even have a "good" excuse anymore (not that their excuses were ever good).

Getting a viable competitive team in earlier Pokemon game was also much harder and time consuming than it is in SV. Why put in several hours into catching the perfect Landorus when you can just pop it into existence and spend those hours skrimming and improving your battling skills, and learning what your Landorus can do?

No they haven't ever gotten a legit Pokemon, they just been parroting the same thing they think they heard for a decade

You really only need like 1 or 2 0IV pokemon to make any 0iv mon you want except for legends

what i like to do, is after i unlock the "JUDGE" feature in the game, i immediately go through every single Pokemon in the PC, checking their IV's. if your a player like me, who happily catches every pokemon they see to complete the pokedex, then your bound to have at least a zero iv pokemon here and there. like when i finally unlocked the Judge in brilliant diamond, i was heart broken to find out that the story Garchomp on my team had a ZERO IV in attack! I couldn't tell because it was "Alert to Sounds", which is a 31 IV characteristic for speed. But i remember having to actually work for a zero speed IV in past games like sun and moon, for trick room stuff. I remember "PURPOSELY" not using the destiny knot, just to get random egg pokemon with random IV's, and eventually i found the zero speed IV i needed to actually begin breeding. but the other hatched eggs would still be useful too if they had the 31ivs i needed.

I would be one of those players, I would breed and take weeks and research for one Pokémon. When I had a good team I would go against shiny legendaries I just give up

Exactly, I’ve been a Pokémon fan since Version Blue, decided the competitive scene isn’t for me and yet I’ve managed to get every mainline game to this day. Also if getting a hard copy of SwSh or PLA is so difficult, why don’t they buy the games that are easily available on the eshop.

No, you should not. Not everyone can afford it, and not everyone is a veteran with multiple pokemon games in their library. Best option broke players have is to find a friend with said game who is willing to part with a powerful legendary pokemon you can only catch once per game. Such a generous person is a rarety in itself.

@@sniderealism2410 That's how the trading economy should work though. Someone isn't willing to give you their earned one time legend for free, how is that a bad thing? Even a broke player with one game can build a collection by just understanding trade value. Even if you have just SV, Ruin Pokémon and Koraidon/Miraidon are some of the most sought out Pokémon right now...if you do the 12 hour reset to beat the game on another save you can get almost any Pokémon you want. That's not even mentioning the collectors who will straight give you legends for some mundane shiny Pokémon.

The rules literally say you can't hack pokemon, period. These hacked pokemon, that "aren't illegitimate" still have an advantage, because you don't need to grind, you can just get a 6 iv shiny pokemon right away. It is an insult to any player who gets their pokemon legitimately, the point of pokemon is the grind. And getting viable pokemon is easier than ever, just slap a nature mint on it, and it's viable. If you want good viable pokemon to use right away with no grind, just go on pokemon showdown.

Respect to you sir. Us trainers who train our Pokemon from ground zero get to enjoy the fulfillment and rewarding feeling of completing that Pokemon. This is what we get to enjoy, not the salty tears of having to sit in a Yokohama hotel and unable to compete, crying on Twitter.

Sounds like a skill issue. Competitive Pokémon is always changing and you have to adapt lol. Even if players are cheating which is bad if you still have a proper team then it comes down to skill

I am not too sure about him deliberately inflicting harm on others, but he sure is a showoff beyond measure and rarely holds himself to the same standards as others. Some of the (probably) hacked mons he was using would have been perfecty easy to get without any fancy titles, but noooo. It did also really show through during the whole team-stealing drama recently, when he takes a popular team composition and adjusts it slightly, he is perfectly fine with it, but not when people do it with something he was working on. Now to be fair, not every perfect Pokemon is hacked, I got a shiny 6IV Necrozma back in Sword from a Dynamax adventure, so if people are willing to commit the time, they can catch nice things themselves, but from what I have heard, Wolfey doesn't do that. I would assume he moved on from hacking, but now has friends and fanboys do the grind for him instead, so he can still play more easily without putting in the effort for the grind himself. While not against the rules, it is still a significant advantage compared to just any normal player participating. Wolfey also has someone else doing/improving EV spreads for him, so really, outside of actually piloting the team in fights, he outsources A LOT of the work to other people, likely using the additional time and prep advantage to improve his experience in said piloting of the team. He is good at that though. My impression is that he really does everything he can in order to get an advantage, he is a lot more sweaty than he makes himself appear to be. Of course I can not blame him for that, I can only blame him for misleading so many people with his online persona, so him being a liar and a cheater is definitely true in a way. On a site note, I agree that VGC has become a lot more stale. It isn't just the cheating issue though, it is also the lack of creativity. I personally think the cheating issue does make the lack of creativity worse, since so many people just copy what is popular/in the meta and are not willing to put in any effort for anything beyond that. I imagine the whole game would be a lot more interesting if that wasn't the case and everyone had a team fully and exclusively created by himself, without that much influence by the online bubble and so many shortcuts being taken. That will unfortunately never be the case again and soon enough, AI will likely kill the last bit of creativity. A lot of this also comes down to the whole winning with your favorites vs playing whatever you need to play so you can win dilemma and it is pretty clear how that goes. It creates the perfect environment for the entitled, lazy and cheating competitive scene.

Its also way more satisfying when you actually use the in game "JUDGE" feature (usually a post game NPC, or in more recent games, something that is unlocked for the PC.), after breeding for dozens of hours to finally get the Pokemon your looking for. Like i remember texting my best friend when we played Pokemon X and Y together, when the Judge NPC said, that one of my "Rotom", i had been breeding constantly for about a week, finally had "BEST" everything, except attack, which was "DECENT". Naturally he wanted a Rotom for his team too, so i naturally bred my new Perfect 5IV Rotom with Ditto, Everstone and Destiny Knot, and it didn't take long to get another perfect 5iv one. Breeding genderless pokemon, really were a pain, but there is so much satisfaction too it!

Dislike botting stripped 90% of my views. Wolfe, Poketips, and others slandering me didn't help
