JoPop Drouse - I hear that, JoPop, and could not agree more. It is my strong suspicion that Leon Redbone never made it to heaven. Instead, his spirit done came to rest inside young LaFarge. It's down right spooky, aye?

Why in the world did this guy and his band just now showed up on my you tube channel 7 years after this video? I'm gobsmacked.

Welcome to the club. I only found him 4ish months ago. I went to show my buddy that likes obscure artists only for him to tell me he's been listening to Pokey for several years. I could have smacked him for not sharing but I guess he didn't think I would like this. Cheers!

I've just found Pokey and his band too, and now I can't stop listening to them. They're brilliant!

@@joem7572 Yeah, I only have a small handful of people who I consider friends, and we discuss movies, books, and music on a weekly or so basis. If any of them kept Pokey, Coulter Wall, Tyler Childress or Kassi Valazza from me to themselves. I'm sure I would do something I would regret. Well...maybe they would regret it more. But who knows? 😜🍺
@joem75723 жыл бұрын
@@70Slinger I've got two friends and we do the same, our other friends are only topically interested. That is why I was gob-smacked when he said he had been listening to Pokey for years. I love Colter Wall and Tyler Childress but I've not heard of Kassi Valazza so I'll check her out. If you haven't already heard of these guys, they are worth a listen: John Butler Trio, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9tlp7SnubDYYGw.html; Nathanial Rateliff, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y5iYq7hluq2XlHU.html; Kaz Hawkins, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLJgYNmal9iooJc.html; JJ Grey & Mofro, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9aIh65oraqWfKc.html; Foy Vance (He wrote this song that Ed Sheeran made popular), kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nqplm6yiyrGyhnk.html; Shawn James, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rr6TfrZ9ztDLmKc.html; and The Milk Carton Kids, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNZgq82H39OvqI0.html. Let me know what you think if you have time. Also, please share other artists that interest you as I love finding new stuff. Cheers! Edit for bad video link.

@@joem7572 Absolutely, thank you for the mentions. I have almost nothing but time on my hands so I will check them out. I would recommend "Johnny Dear" by Kassi but only if you are in a good disposition. It's depressing but a damn good song. Her voice and the lead guitar reminds me of Twin Peaks or almost anything from David Lynch. Take Care, Cheers.🍺👍

Nope. Same home town. Met him many, many times....he is exactly as he seems. He is who he is and he's not playing a character
