Sean invites the girls to do the "Polar Bear Plunge" with him; where they have to jump into the icy lake water and be completely submerged before they can come out. Selma refuses to go in, which disappoints Sean. The rest of the girls complete the dive, with Tierra suffering from hypothermia upon resurfacing from the water. She is treated by a paramedic and told to stay in her hotel room to rest.

To people saying she faked it or saying she’s being dramatic...yes she was definitely the most dramatic on the show but that doesn’t mean that her life was not threatened. I mean her body literally went into shock. Hypothermia is real I knew it’d happen to someone there. Thank god for Catherine and deseiree for being nice to her

Favorite comment I think they didn’t trust her so they called it boy who cried wolf, but I think she actually had hypothermia. I agree about Desiree and Catherine. We needed that balance.

Can I just point out how all of these girls have more realistic bodies in this season in 2013?? The 2020 beauty standards for bodies is so insane and it just keeps getting less and less achievable by your average girl.

Yes all such gorgeous women :) But they are more in their late twenties or even early 30s if I am not mistaken. With jobs that are not like influencers or something where a big part of the job lends to a very heavily curated look, so that’s where they are more natural as you said 🤍

She might have had other things wrapped around her. You can see her running away kind of pushing the tinfoil off her body. She may not have been thinking clearly, but she may have also been trying to make her situation worse for attention. Impossible to know.

Watching it this time around I thought “she is less wrapped than everybody else” so whatever the circumstances were behind that, I feel like that was either a sign or it was going to put her at greater risk (I’m not sure which way it works with hypothermia)

@@kcc-karenschroniccorner9432 One fairly common symptom of Hypothermia is "Paradoxical Undressing" where they get confused and try to take things off instead of trying to warm up. It's totally a thing weirdly enough, and is very dangerous if the person is alone experiencing it. Could've also just been panic though.

I’m a paramedic and I’m pretty sure she had some localized cold injuries to her feet, but it looked like a panic attack to me

She may not have faked the whole thing, but she certainly played it up. After this, somehow she makes a miraculous recovery right away, so that's suspicious. But it does show Catherine is a great light, being so concerned about and kind to someone who is problematic mean girl.

Its actually common to yawn when you are short of breath. Or try to yawn when you're short of breath. Which is possibly an early sign of hypothermia itself

I felt really bad for Tierra I have epilepsy and I have had seizures and it’s scary for me when I come out of them and my mom asks me question like what day it is what month is it what is your name and I can’t remember them. Obviously that’s different from hypothermia but I can still relate it’s a scary situation to be in. Anybody could tell that this was a dumb activity to do in the first place the only one that was thinking was Selma. They could have done anything else and why they didn’t just go canoeing instead of the whole I’m gonna take a dip is beyond me the producers should have never approved this.

I’ve done this where my family cut a chunk of ice out of a frozen lake and it was below freezing outside. It’s cold but I haven’t heard of anything getting that bad unless she was in the water a lot longer than we saw.

This is hilarious to watch as somebody who is from the area of lake Louise. I remember me and some friends did the polar plunge everyday for a month straight as a goal for winter 2019. I get it’s not for everybody, but it really is not that bad.

I don’t know why but when I saw this as it originally aired, Tierra just had the body of a toddler at 2:13. Maybe it’s because she’s short, maybe it’s the swimsuit, but even watching this again 10 years later, I still think that for some reason 😂

ok I'll say this Tierra may have been the most dramatic on her season but on this episode I did feel for her, I mean the water they jumped into is glacier fed water that's just above freezing temps. so I'm sure her body went into shock. I mean and for Ashley to say that Tierra is lying, that's messed up. I mean while she may have been the most dramatic on this season, yes. But in this moment highly doubtful I mean this could've happened to any one of you ladies who jumped into the water, so Ashley's comment. Totally wrong and completely unnecessary in my opinion.

Ok so who produced this episode? Who’s idea was this? Because this is idiotic. She suffered from shock, and then hypothermia progressed, even after she was out of the water. It can happen to literally anyone. Ice-water dipping is for people who are acclimated to the weather. And literally anyone can succumb to hypothermia from even being underessed for too long. Canadians dont do ice-water dipping voluntarily except at special events, in which case you sign up. This is so ridiculous. If i were tuere, i would’ve told him off, told the producer off, because this is dangerous and they could’ve done 100 other things in lake louise. And for the bachelor to put expectations on ladies to do this is incredibly shallow. Shame.
