According to the Environmental Protection Agency, www.epa.gov/climatechange/ , the burning of coal, and oil has caused greenhouse gasses to become trapped in the earths atmosphere - which heats the whole planet up.
Polar Bears were the first animals to become Endangered (under the Endangered Species Act) and will become extinct if we do not pay more attention to reducing our carbon footprint and building better environments, as well as inventing environmentally sustainable alternatives to our dependence on fossil fuels.
