Lyrics:
I never asked for this burden
I never asked for this cross that I bear on my back
But like an ulcer scratching against my tongue
I can’t leave it alone
So you can find me down at the bottom
With a stomach full of stones
I can’t outrun my fate, it follows like a shadow
I put all of my faith in a saint without a halo
But I won’t die pretending I’m not intending
To see this through until I too become invisible to you
So pull me under, be sure to leave no trace
Never wonder, I see it on your face
What do I have to do to demonstrate
The way it makes me feel and think?
I feel like I could fucking suffocate
And you would barely blink
I could suffocate and you would barely blink
So I’ll sink, searching for an answer
With a stomach full of stones
These thoughts are like a cancer
Growing in my bones
I’ve made this hell my home
Never again, sever the sin from within my soul
The darker half that makes me whole
I was only dreaming
I was never here
I was only dreaming
Of how I’ll disappear
I can’t outrun my fate, it follows like a shadow
I put all of my faith in a saint without a halo
But I won’t die pretending I’m not intending
To see this through until I too become invisible to you
(I was only dreaming)
Invisible to you
(I was never here)
But I won’t die pretending
I’m not intending to see this through
Until I too become invisible to you
I long to leave the past behind
And tear out the thorn that’s in my side

I will miss him, honestly. I’m exactly twice his age (Ryan perished sadly at age 26 - apparently the reason of his passing is intentionally kept secret by the band which is a great thing to do out of respect - so multiply by two and you exactly know my age), experience in the field being a versatile deejay in my spare time and senior ICT security expert as main profession. Busy life, although I should take it much more easily according to medical advice. Because I do have disabilities yes, and it even feels like a death sentence, I mean, my life estimation is just like everyone else although there’s no cure for my disabilities. So doomed for the rest of my existence, even though I always try to make the very best of it now I still can, because I rely on science, not fairytale religions! The day I die, I will be fit for an autopsy, I donated my future corpse to the advanced know how of the nearest university. But never mind, I’m still here, alive and kicking, although cynical, misanthropic and of course, much too soon already having a grey haircut and almost a white beard (from sorrows I presume? Or because my doctor told me already a decade ago: beware of being stressed out, or to say it in your professional terms: stress means blue screen to you and your system core crashes without remorse (….blue screen? Also known by especially Micro$hit Win$lows users as the so-called BSOD - blue screen of death - …fortunately I’m using mainly Apple iPads and I erased preinstalled Windows operating systems from all my laptops replacing them with something much better, advanced and most reliable: LINUX!) … but all this in spite of the quite rare neurological health issues I’m constantly struggling with. A pain in the butt but still I survive. Thanks to practicing iron discipline and improved self control. Because I’m way too often foolishly prejudiced and misunderstood by the vast mediocrity of society and I honestly feeling myself casted out by the majority of idiots in our current 21st century drone civilization. And it only gets worse when the days go by, people are merely idiots, and while stupidly demoralized already, all decent morals left keep on fading and I’m not just sickened by it but I’m also getting stuck into a melancholic downward spiral but (what a relief) successfully coping with it being nostalgic. Nostalgia is the perfect medicine for melancholy. Damn I hate all fuckers outside, if they’re all trying to cast me out then I’m firmly turning my back towards society for real by throwing a curse upon all retard drones on this screwed up dirt-ball, myself being an everlasting loner or otherwise said: einzelgänger. I won’t regret it. If people don’t get along with me in my private life because of their stupidity called prejudice and/or misunderstanding for whatever’s strange to them, like rare neurological syndromes they never heard of, too lazy to dig up their smartphones to look it up but rather considering me as a fucking weirdo, well, so be it. They don’t need me, they don’t even want to know me better, the way I am? Well, I don’t need them either. For my biggest proven advantage is that I’m incredibly smarter than most of you are. So I got a huge IQ. Easy to see through our current society where almost 99 percent of all of you are plain idiots, retards compared to me. So nope, I don’t need advice of lesser beings. I won’t accept it anyway. Does this sound harsh? Then so be it. It’s as true as can be and confirmed by one of the best universities where they got the necessary know how. Therefore, here’s my current recipe for self preservation: being self indulgent, responsible, self centered with an epicurean lifestyle because with both feet on the ground, rational and pragmatic but highly individualistic and, oh sorry, egocentric without a doubt. 😡 Now tell me and let me challenge all of you: who’s the first idiot out there trying to tell me that I’m wrong?! I dare you all! 👿 BTW: music is and will always be my survival. My sincere greetings to everyone down under because I’m from the north. To these great artists from Australia, all my best and honest greetings from me, a Belgian fan! ❤ M.
