(Just want to inform you about the Lifetime Oneway clutch, it only lasted me two rides and failed. It looks well built but not worth your money.) Removing oneway clutch/bearing from a Polaris Predator 500 03-07, Outlaw 500 06-07

4 bolts came out. And broke off the other 4 where loose. And bearing is bad of mine. Easy fix 👍

I have a 07 im working on i changed the clutch plates and springs and friction plates i dont see where the transmission oil goes in or does it come from the motor oil? Please let me know thank you

Would this be my issue it spins the motor but wont start it grinds and sounds like nails on chalk board we spun the engine over with a wrench and was all smooth and quite

@@poorwhiteboy6521 when u go to start it you will here the starter turning but nothing else just a high pitched spinning sound it might try to turn over but if the one way clutch is really bad it wont catch and try to start at all.

Yes that is normal, oil should be in there.

Currently trying to replace one but the piece I took the bolts out of are stuck together. What can I do with common household tools to get them apart? Tried a rubber mallet.

Try to pry them apart by using a pry bar or screwdriver but also make sure not to bang on the flywheel, the magnets can get damaged.

Mine came with an arrow on it pointing towards the right, does it matter which way the one way bearing goes on? I got the one you put the link in a comment.

I have a predator 500 and sometimes the starter just click click clicks and then sometimes it'll work and sometimes when I turn it over by hand it'll freeze up another times it'll move Free is that possible my problem

It could be but not 100% sure. It could also be your starter is going out. But if it was my bike I would remove flywheel cover and see what’s going on.

My problem is the gear in the back of the one way bearing spins freely when I hit the starter button. Do you know if that is because of the one way bearing?

Having problems starting with a predator 500 I've just got. Sometimes fine. Sometimes nothing. Would u start with this or starter motor please

You can tell by sound if the oneway clutch is bad. It sounds like a fast spin, or fast spin with some grinding noise. Also a bad oneway clutch can work and not work (grab). Oneway clutch spins oneway and when it fails, going bad, it will spin both ways. I would check the easiest part to get to first.

The gear can be reuses unless teeth are broken or gear is bent from removing off flywheel.

Mine had black oil , are you supposed to ad some gear oil ? Or does it use the engine oil

Motor (engine) oil runs through that area, no gear oil.

@@luigimorelli6955 To solve this issue the Predator needs to use the oem(original) CDI or aftermarket CDI's Vortek or Dyno. Other aftermarket CDI will cause motor to kickback when starting motor and damage oneway clutch & sometimes woodruff key. I currently have a Procom CDI and sometimes it will kickback. I also know my motor very well and know when to give it gas(throttle) so it won't kickback when trying to start bike.

You should never use an air impact to put that nut back on your flywheel you will strip it or cause it to be weaker by tightening it down with excessive force it's best to use a ratchet and a pair of channel locks or crescent wrench to hold the washer trust me we have sheared many bolts off and had to drill them out

The impact I own does not have abundance of torque. I've used my impact and never sheared any bolts when tightening the flywheel nut on all the equipment (atv/dirt bikes) I worked on. Thanks.

@@pastardicus Fly wheel bolt torque is 111-125lbs, I'm not sure what my air gun is torqued to but I would recommended getting a torque wrench.

The reason I replace it because the oneway clutch failed. When a oneway clutch fails it will spin both directions instead of oneway. The major reason for this is “kick back on motor when staring” when OEM CDI is replaced by aftermarket CDI other than a Vortex & Dynatek. My apologies for not starting the quad. Oneway clutch still running strong.
