I loved how she cut him to the quick, but his acting skills were up to the task. When she hisses what she does about Valentine, watch Jack Farthing’s face. He is an inspired actor and gave an unforgettable performance in the series.

Aunt Agatha was like a refreshment and summer breeze in this series. Surely will be missed!

I'm going to miss Aunt Agatha. She was the greatest Poldark of them all. George will burn in hell for how he treated her.

I hated George for denying her the party. He deserved the dagger she delivered.

Apparently in the book she did get her party so I feel a lot better about that now

That part of the script should have been left out. It's to heart breaking in real life- the thought of it.

Aunt Agatha, I so loved her and role. She made the movie have some realness in it. The reality of a real Poldark family had existed prior to her time.

George: Elizabeth you look lovely today, and you too Miss Poldark Aunt Agatha: I most certainly don't, and neither do you, you're far too pasty faced (I think that was s1, I love how he tried to charm her and she was having none of it)

It's really an immensely missed opportunity that the great Caroline Blakiston was not re-cast as Mon Mothma in the new SW trilogy. The producers want "strong female" characters yet the strongest one wasn't recast.
@cobaltwill2154 жыл бұрын
Mon Mothma really didn't have a place in the new movies. Presumably..she led the New Republic for a few years, signed into law the military disarmament act and eventually retired back to Chandrila. Nevertheless it would have been nice to see Blakiston as Mon Mothma in the movies.

If I was rich enough I would buy a castle and pay for an Aunt Agatha type to walk around it randomly saying weird stuff......It would be fun to have a dinner party where she walks about saying " There is a blue ring around the moon tonight which means trouble"......Guest would think she was a hoot.

George was an evil man and treated Aunt Agatha cruelly. I loved seeing Aunt Agatha and liked hoe Ross was good to her and she knew it.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but I was not a fan of Agatha in the TV series. To me she was okay...I just bought the books and I will be reading them hopefully my opinions will change. I did want to like her and I did in the first season but afterwards my feelings declined. Did I feel bad that she passed? yes of course I did. Did I feel bad that she didn't get a party? Not exactly nor was I shocked. I mean George would be paying for all of the expenses and knowing that he wasn't nice to her neither was she....what did she expect? I know in the book she does get her party which I'm glad but...again I'm not a fan. I wish I was but I'm not🙁

I felt similarly about Agatha. To some degree I liked her spunk and sharp wit but in the film version (I don't know about the books) it's revealed that she had disdain for George even when he visited Francis as a child, making fun of the inappropriately fancy clothes his mother dressed him in. That seemed unnecessarily cruel to a kid who hadn't done anything to her and just wanted to fit in with his upper class friends. Agatha definitely had her prejudices against the lower classes, even going so far as to want Ross to leave his "maid" (Demelza) for Elizabeth. It also bugs me a bit that Agatha doesn't seem to appreciate that it's the "upstart" George who pays all the bills and maintains her ancestral home. Maybe that's why he sometimes shortchanges her coal supply out of spite -- he gets nothing but contempt from her anyway, so he might as well earn it.
