The handle is and has been in the same position and the pin keeps it in the same position too so you can put on some rubber bands you can screw it in the bomb or just put the pin back to keep the handle in the same position so that the bomb doesn't explode

When I was little I had a fake plastic grenade and I was showing my grandfather who fought in WW2. Instead of letting the fly off lever flick away, hold it, and the grenade will flick away. It goes way further than you'd expect, not enough to not kill you so make sure you do this with cover. Kinda fun. And makes safety focused people freak the fuck out.
