My mother died Boxing Day 1979 but I still went to this gig - the best gig I've ever attended. Emotionally raw doesn't describe it by half.

My buddy bailed on me to go see them in 83. His gramma died that day. I went with his gf. To this day I still think he’s a pussy.

I was there - great memories. The December 1978 show at Friars was even better.

A classmate who btw was a Jehovah's witness lent me a cassette of The Clash's first album and didn't know what to make of it. I was knew to punk and it sounded very weird for a guy who was used to listening pop and progressive rock. The song that drove my attention and was this one. Much much later, I worked for this Rock FM station in my hometown and it promoted a Reggae concert with the likes of The Wailers and aldo Junior Murvin. I was delighted.

Thanks for Upload, haven't seen this before ..Aylesbury Friars - a popular venue & often the start point for a band on the road... The 16tons tour with Mikey Dread I think ..

I was there. Wasn't that the gig when Ian Dury & The Blockheads were the special mystery guests ? Excellent gig.

Lots of things 'matter' ..the Clash '79- '81 were my favourite band live & on record ...but there were other groups& genres that meant a lot....

You can hear the similarity in so much music these days. This was still considered punk music back then.

cause his playing isnt so great. "strummer" hes strumming all 6 strings when he plays because hes a lefty playing with a righty guitar. mick was also more incharge of the levels on soundboard so of course he brings himself up.
