That absolutely sounds weak as hell. All they have is the word of a kid with coke trying to get his own charges dropped. Any lawyer would tear into that. Now, unless for two years something of Tony's remained on the gun (unlikely) like an absolutely perfect preserved fingerprint or something, I can't see how the hell the cops managed to get a warrant for this in the first place. They had to be really stretching it with a judge who hated Tony Soprano.

Despite the show jumping time ahead, he had at least a couple hours to prepare for court; they just don't arrest you and drive you immediately to the judge. These things have to be arranged. Ignoring all of that, he's a freaking Italian mob boss. Of coarse he's going to have a suit on at public events, even if he has to have shady guy smuggle one in for him.

To continue benefiting from it without feeling bad the whole family just ignores it.

A mob boss like that is also armed to the teeth, and who knows, maybe his gun-carrying underlings are there with him inside. If I was law enforcement, I wouldn't go in with one or two officers to arrest the most powerful mob boss in North Jersey responsible for dozens of killings These mob bosses, they are animals, if they panic, they could kill police, they could kill anyone they want to save their own skin
