Police blocked a consultative meeting organized by local political leaders and residents of Kasokoso regarding pending NEMA evictions of wetland encroachers. The meeting, arranged by Kira Municipality Member of Parliament Ssemujju Nganda, Ronald Balimwezo, the Nakawa East MP, and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, was disrupted when residents fled amid teargas fired by police. Several arrests were reported during the incident.
