POLICE BODY CAM: July 4 block party fatal shooting

A July 4 block party in Toledo, Ohio, turned into a fatal shooting as more than 300 people fought and shots were fired by multiple shooters.
The shooting during a large block party left multiple people injured - including an 11-year-old who was shot and a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed - early Monday morning in central Toledo.
Toledo Police Chief George Kral said Monday at a news conference that 12 people were shot during the incident, including 17-year-old Stephon Johnson, who was airlifted to a hospital in Ann Abor, Mich., where he later died.
Four other victims are 19 years old, one is 18, two are 17, two are 16, one is 15 and one is 11.A 51-year-old male was also involved.
All of the other victims are expected to be okay, per TPD.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 for anyone who has information that will lead to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting.
Anyone with information should contact ATF by calling 1-888-ATF-TIPS, emailing ATFTips@atf.gov or by submitting an anonymous tip through the "ReportIt" app.

The point is, with shots coming from different directions and them not knowing who in the crowd of hundreds has a gun and who doesn't, they could've backed off and waited for backup. In fact, they probably SHOULD'VE backed off and waited for backup. But they didn't. That's why they deserve respect. When a cop shoots a criminal I can say the same thing about the criminal; he signed up for that.

I'd say, the ability to defend yourself would be better. Criminals would be dying constantly, then next time someone thinks of becoming a thief or things of the likes, they'll think twice knowing whoever they try to mess with can/will kill them. The wild wild west was peaceful because everyone had a gun. If there was any problems, it was/is life or death. Then people start thinking, "Well, is this really worth my life, or the chance of dying? I'll just let it go." They stop fighting over stupid things or doing stupid stuff, and egos would be gone knowing they can easily be dropped dead. It will keep everyone in line and in check. It is what keeps guys peaceful with each other. Misstep or disrespect a dude and there is a good chance you will get punched or beat by them.

Two officers, outmanned and outgunned, trying to find who is shooting at them and other people, and every corner they round, there's someone crouching down or running at them, all the while hearing gunshots mixed with fireworks. Toledo is not a defund the police city. The city has a 3/4 tax that pays for a new police class every year. There’s barely any money to pay for that anyway due to the tax base continually declining. Notice in this video as well as the police chase that took place literally down the street a few months ago, there’s NO police helicopters like in other cities. Toledo is the last city you would hear trying to defund the police. This ain’t Portland, OR… They don’t believe in that here.

He's referring to those of us that have experienced something like this and yet some how during the fire fight we get a raging hard on and keep moving forward and looking, and shooting. It's cathartic. In a way, it's more peaceful than it seems. Most won't get it. But the ones that do, we meditate in the moment, remembering and longing for it.
